A host of different creative works of art are all spawned from a single idea. In the absence of a proper idea, however, a single word, object, or even emotion acts the spark.
In the case of verbal improvisation, I find that if I need a quick filler I usually go for something related to food. So if someone would challenge me by shouting "Quick, give me a word!" I would reply with, for example "Pancakes!".
This whole concept of my brain having the shortest road to go by relating to food doesn't really trouble me, but it DOES confuse me a bit. Yes, one of my hobbies are baking, but no, I don't feel my life is revolving around all things culinary in any way. Food is for eating, and I don't live to eat. I eat to live. So why does my subconsciousness always feel like mentioning food if asked?
So yes, in lieu of any logical reasoning, I ask you good people: What is the first thing that, if prompted, springs to mind for you, and why? Mind you, I don't wish to start a one-reply banlist, and as such an explanation would be both interesting and, you know, required.
