Ah, the sword in the original 2D Prince of Persia. You know, the one in which the prince of a great Middle Easter nation is a Scandinavian in his pajamas. That sword could cut.

Although since I didn't start gaming for reals until much later, on the N64, I think you could also count the good ol' PP7. Or Mario's butt.

Seriously? How old are you? (Don't mean to be condescending, but wow. I remember playing that game in middle school.)

Probably a brown pixellated sword. I couldn't wait to bomb some Octoroks!
As of writing I am seventeen years old. I'm not sure when I played it. It was very new and the first game I got - in combination with the playstation 2. Ratchet and Clank was released in 2002, which was eight years ago, so at the time I must have been nine.

Does that answer your question?

ALTHOUGH it just occured to me that I might have been lying. The first game weapon I ever used might have been a wand in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

A yellow arrow that was supposed to be a sword. I killed ducks that were supposed to be dragons with it.

Ahh, I see. It doesn't seem like such a long time ago, you know?

It might have been an upward firing machine gun from Tyrian.
Gah! I used to play that all the time when I was a wee child! I knew how to unlock the carrot ship and everything.
