Ah, the sword in the original 2D Prince of Persia. You know, the one in which the prince of a great Middle Easter nation is a Scandinavian in his pajamas. That sword could cut.
Although since I didn't start gaming for reals until much later, on the N64, I think you could also count the good ol' PP7. Or Mario's butt.

As of writing I am seventeen years old. I'm not sure when I played it. It was very new and the first game I got - in combination with the playstation 2.
