I'm not quite sure, since I've been playing games ever since I can remember. I firmly believe it was prince of persia or another world, though. Good times, as a kid, playing this with my dad.

Sonic 2 on the Megadrive. Do I still play it, from time to time I do. Have I gotten any better at it?
*starts laughing*
Depends on the definition of good. XD

Sonic 2 for the SEGA Genesis. I was 5 years old when I got the console for Christmas, and that's the game that came with it. I've been a gamer ever since, and I don't regret it for one second. <3

Thievery first game I really sat down and played, not just dabbled, was Thief: The Dark Project.
Needless to say, the bar was set high. Thankfully it was followed by Half-Life, System Shock 2 and Thief 2 :)
Did you see what I did at the beginning?

Gobliiins. I rebought it off GOG recently. It's still a pretty good puzzle/adventure game, and the sequels (which I had never played) still hold up too.

The first game I played in a technical sense was StarCraft for the PC.
I say "technical" because I played it using cheats. I wasn't really into challenge or story at the time.
Now the first game I played in an actual sense, without cheats and using my own skills, was Medal of Honor: Frontline for the GameCube. That was the game that pulled me in.

My oldest memory was playing Double Dragon on a Master System...
Don't know if that was my first game.

Aside from random educational games, I believe it was my uncle's copy of Link's Awakening. I didn't actually finish it until about 3-4 years ago when I picked up a copy of the DX version, but I'd still count it as one my favorite games of all time.

The first game I ever owned and played was Powerslide, an apocalyptic racer for the PC. It was pretty cool, but damn hard on the later difficulties. I still whip it out and replay it now and again for nostalgia. Still never beat it. I also remember playing a Monsters Inc. game on the playstation when I was really young, and it was one of the first games I played, and one that got me interested in video games. That belonged to my cousin though. Whether I played it before or after Powerslide, I know not. It'd be one of those two though.

Sorry, saw that and couldn't resist :D

OT: Some bike racing game on the master system. Might have been Road Rash, not sure. God, that would've been nearly, if not, 20 years ago now. Fuck, I feel old...

My very first game was Kirby's Dream Land 2, which was released when I was around a year and a half old. For all I know, that's how old I was when I started gaming.

No, I don't still play it. I sold my copy (among other games) years ago while trying to raise money for the original Nintendo DS. Little did I know that I would one day want them all back.

My only memories of playing it back then were getting to King Dedede for the first time in the car as my mom pulled out of our driveway, and feeling like the black fire miniboss showed up way too often. Oh, and not knowing what the hell Gooey was or why he was there instead of an animal buddy sometimes.

I'd love to have that game again.

Well I have, and I mean this with the utmost seriousness, been gaming since before I can even remember. I'm 18 and a half and have probably been going since I was 2 or 3, to to be honest I have absolutely no recollection of what I first played. I can't even pinpoint my first game I remember, but I can almost guarantee it was on the N64, possibly Donkey Kong 64 but that's just a guess... and I really wanna go play Donkey Kong 64 now.

Whatever the first Mario game for the Nintendo was I'm pretty sure. I was like 3 and it's my first memory. All I can recall is being underwater as Mario trying to dodge the squids or fish or whatever it was.

Something on the Commodore 64 I think. I want to say it was 'Hot Wheels' since that was the only game I really played on that thing, but I'm not sure. I honestly don't remember much about that game or system.

I didn't really get into gaming until I got an SNES and Mega Man X. That was the first game I really fell in love with(I was probably 7 at the time). I still play it to this day, it's one of my all time favorite games. It holds up pretty well too. The sprites are still gorgeous, the dashing mechanic is insanely fun to abuse, the level designs are fantastic, the controls are great and the music... oh god that music.

-ahem-

A shareware copy of Hocus Pocus by Apogee. I played it on my dad's black and white laptop back '95. I got it again recently and its still just as good as it was back in the day.

Where in the World/Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego. Except that at the time I was 2, so it was more me sitting on my mom's lap and pointing to what I wanted her to pick.

I have distinct memories of playing the original Alone in the Dark, but I was still only about 3 or 4 at the time and normally ended up getting killed by the dog-bat-weasels in the attic.

There were a lot of computer games that I played when I was young that I can picture but don't remember the names of...
