what if you run out of fuel?
Actually they would be rather safer once you get figure out how to use three dimensions to move in rather then two. This can allow you space things out more, give more room for people to find a spot to merge into etc. No more lights either, just have one direction over the other direction. Need to turn at an intersection? Move to the space between the lanes, and then make the turn and use that space to get back up to speed and merge.Simalacrum said:meh, its a bit inpractical anyway, do you know how dangerous a mid-air collision could be with flying cars? and considering how frequently they happen on the ground...
It's a risk I'd be willing to take. Hell ground travel is a lot more dangerous than air travel for the most part anyway.cheesecake123 said:but what about the car flying into the groundwewontdie11 said:Parachutes. Lots of parachutes.cheesecake123 said:there is a design flaw with the hover car.

I never knew it before today but I need a rocket powered helicopter.Internet Kraken said:I would not cut off my foot for the flying car. I am that selfish.
Plus, I think it would be cooler if we were all flying these instead of flying cars:![]()
well that is a good point but i cant stop thinking about going for a walk in the park and then a car lands on you.wewontdie11 said:It's a risk I'd be willing to take. I'd imagine that's because of the sheer number of people that drive rather than fly; plus the types of people who can drive (Almost anyone) versus those that can fly (Only trained professionals).wewontdie11 said:It's a risk I'd be willing to take. Ah but the best part about this scinareo is that you get to decide who can pilot the flying cars!Calobi said:I'd imagine that's because of the sheer number of people that drive rather than fly; plus the types of people who can drive (Almost anyone) versus those that can fly (Only trained professionals).wewontdie11 said:It's a risk I'd be willing to take. So in short: no thanks. And, once everybody has a flying car ... well, have you ever been driving to work in a city at around, oh, eight or nine in the morning? If so, you'll know exactly how bad traffic can get during rush hour. Now, imagine if there was not just one layer of cars, but there was layer after layer of flying metal death traps over top and below you.
Even worse, even a minor crash with another flying car could send both vehicles plummeting to the ground while you scream in terror. Imagine the poor guy on the ground, sitting there at a red light, as a flaming five car pile-up is hurdling down towards him from the sky.
