Life is statistically probable.
A rough scientific estimate says there are between 1 billion and 30 billion planets in our galaxy. There are about 100 billion galxies in the universe.
For easy maths well use the lower number of planets.
So if you give the chance of life on any given planet as 1 in 1 billion -ludicrously long odds- there is life on 1 billion planets, earth being one of course.
Less chance or accident, more inevitable. As far as working "perfect" , its good but far from perfect.
Man is a poor design for a bipedal animal, hence all of the back pain, knee problems and piles we wouldnt get if we were quadrapeds. More an evolutionary trial and error bodge job than designed to work perfectly.
