This is a little disheartening. Not the review. I expected the game would not be as good as it could have been. no, it's the people on this forum (and most of the world) who see something, take it out of context, and then shove it back in expecting to be praised for their great job kicking some guy in the shins. I liked your review. I hadn't bought the game cause my 360's in the shop, and if not for you're review I would have gone out, bought it, hated it, and condemned LucasArts for eternity (maybe not that last bit, but still). I think no on here is saying that TFU was all that great a game, am I right? I'm sure it has it's fun bits, that's why I'll still rent it, but the point is it's not worth full price. So, how we come to that conclusion is mearly a matter of opinion. Which means if Yassen wants to get his point across by comparing it to a good Star Wars game, RPG or not, then I don't see why focusing on the part where he compares it to an RPG (NOT the point of this conversation) is not only done, but accepted. It's wasn't even done constructively. It's like you WANT to find something wrong with his review. Yassen, keep it up, and just ignore the people who do this kind of thing. All they want is to feel justified for something, whether they are actually right or not.

Madden '09 - Not A First-Person Shooter

EDIT: OoOoOoooh, my 666th post, and it was kind of a nasty one. Sorry TC, I couldn't resist.

I agree

I was expecting so much more, like a more fleshed out story and a better camera.

I keep hearing people complaining about the camera. Admittedly thus far I've only played the 360 demo (My budget doesn't have room for renting or buying at the moment ;<) but I thought the camera was more than adequate. Better than some games (Devil May Cry, for one.)

It's fine in the demo, but as the game progesses, you (or at least I did) find yourself being blindsided by enemies you couldn't see, or the camera accidently traps you in a corner when every enemy is attacking you.

A little annoying.

I thought part of being a 3rd person brawler enthusiast was being used to dealing with shitty cameras. They're kinda the standard for the genre and for good reason, they're a ***** to implement.

you have a good point.

to the people that did take his KOtor comparison out of context: STUFU please do us a favor and write it down so you can feel better about yourself and leave room for that more valid comments.

i played the game and i thought the evrons were awesome feluscia and raxis were pretty platformy thou, and yeah the camera was a little retarded (like when i was fighting the rancors in that one place i couldnt find them to hit them had to go after them one at a time)
the holocrons mostly were something i could enjoy going after (playing this game i figured out just how much i like platformer games), and yes the boss fight were more that a little one sided
good comparison to KOTORS storyline.
just a question but if you listen to some of darth vaders lines: wasnt the rebel alliance his idea? in a werid way

No, I'm sorry, no. You can't post a review on a public forum and expect people to not throw down their criticisms of it. Especially when the review doesn't focus on the aspects of the genre and instead draws comparisons to a game only linked by the fantasy universe the two dwell inside.

A fair review, a bit too short but it did the job for a game like this, I've always imagined it to feel like a movie licensed game.

But I must say they did try to hype it up.
With quotes about the story such as :"You won't be able to imagine the Star Wars saga without it any more". I've never played the game so you might not be able to, but by the sound of it it's not very likely.

Decent enough review, however i don't think you've got across your views as well as you had hoped.

About the comment regarding the characters and their lack of depth, to enjoy the entire TFU experience you have to read the novel as well as playing the game. The novel divulges into the mind of Starkiller, reveals things that he done during his training and a bit more about his father's background as well as his own.

Clearly Lucas is trying to milk as much as he can from the Star Wars cash cow by creating both a game and a novel, but at the same time he does give you the opportunity to explore two avenue's of the experience as well, the thoughts and the actions of the main character. The thoughts of the character are shown in the novel and the actions are of course from the game.

For me the game is a large let down, i'm a MASSIVE Star Wars fan (i have the lightsaber collectibles and have read the books) and had been waiting for this game for over a year. I think it was far too short, had poor camera mobility and the enemy (barring the Purge Troopers) were largely easy to beat and just an excuse for people to experience the most out of all the combo's and moves on offer.
