We haven't had one of these in forever, so I figured, why the hell not, they're fun and they're educational, although not in any productive or practical way for the most part.

Did you know that...
Coffee became popular in colonial America in the 1770's due to the British cutting off much of the tea trade to North America. All the dandies needed something to sip over their conversation about their rather unjust revolution[footnote]Yes I, as an American do think that the grounds for independence were more than a little shaky[/footnote] (if you really think about it, the Colonies didn't have that much of a reason for rebellion) so they turned to coffee. Oddly enough, as the demand for coffee grew in the US, it lessened in Britain where tea reigned supreme and has ever since the war of 1812.

the character Ermac from the Mortal Kombat series was originally a bug in the pallet swap function and when you looked at the fight audit, it says you fought ERMAC, which was a shortened version Error Macro.

Thomas Jefferson's original vision for America was actually the idea of many small farm communities that were worked in a communal fashion, similar to communism. He later realized this wouldn't work all that well after the failure of The Articles of Confederation (which were too weak) and as the country expanded.

Your turn, tell me something new that I haven't heard before.

Narwals have a vestigial pelvic bone. This means that at some point, Narwals walked on land. Therefore, Unicorns.

The Ouija board was originally intended as a toy and was patented in 1890. Now Parker Brothers has all copyrights and patents for it.

It sure is magical...

In Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania, a group of five or more Native Americans is considered a raiding party and may be killed on the spot.

In Shrewsbury, England, it is still legal to shoot a welshman who is crossing the Welsh Bridge into town. But only with a Crossbow.

In some French villages it's illegal to die.

The American anthem was based on the poem "Defence of Fort McHenry". The tune is ripped straight from the English song "The Anacreontic Song" written by John Stafford Smith.

The further away you are from Africa, the less vowels you will find in a language.

I'd never heard that before, but it's pretty awesome.

Some other people might have noticed this, but in Old World Blues (the Fallout: NV DLC) One of the place that could be the Big MT, or Big Mountain as it is properly called, is Black Mesa in Arizona, which would be totally fitting as Black Mesa in Half Life is also a science lab where experiments of questionable morality take place.

I just remembered a few more:

-Your fingers don't have any muscles in them.
-Water is slightly blue rather than colourless.
-The word "gullible" isn't actually in the Oxford English Dictionary.

Vegeta originally said 'over 8000', in a much calmer tone, in the Dragonball manga. Probably for dramatization, they changed it to 9000 in the anime.

When put in context, Rebecca Black's "Friday" describes John F. Kennedy's assasination.

The ship on which Princess Leia was being attacked in the beginning of Star Wars IV; A New Hope was made of leftovers from other ship models.
Also, the actress of Leia didn't wear a bra on set.

Bananas aren't actually a fruit, but a herb.

There were also fun times had by all when she was in her "Slave Leia" outfit. The metal didn't exactly stick to her skin.

You can't cross the MN boarder with a duck on your head. Or Wisconsins with a chicken.

It's also illegal in MN to sleep naked or have oral sex (We're such a fun state huh?)

The penalty for jumping off of a sky scrapper in New York is Death (derp.)

In Texas, one MUST acknowledge a supreme being before being able to hold public office.

In Arizona, it is illegal to hunt Camels.

in Arkansas, a man can legally beat his wife, but not more than once a month.

That's about all I know.

sexy, and how could she with what she had to wear?
Human bodies expand a little when in space, so wearing a bra would either be very constraining or even potentially strangle you. Lucas wanted to keep it a bit real(Or so he said).

In Star Wars, Queen Padmé Amidala's decoy was played by Keira Knightley (it's surprising that few people know this). When the real Amidala appeared dressed as her decoy, Keira Knightley's voice was dubbed over Natalie Portman's voice.

She was also on crack though most of the making of the last two movies as well but I'm pretty sure most people knew that already.

The american dub made it 9000 , the original japanese dub anime still refer to it as 8000.
