Guess it's time I bring in the guy who's bringing funky back .... FunkBot! .... err I mean BreakBot

And why not a duo of funky robots?

[EDIT] And a song I just discovered the other day I can't help but groove to.

The funk left when Escapist contributor [user]John Funk[/user] left. You can't fake the funk!

:p

Anyway, this thread needs Tommy Guerrero:

[sub][sub]God, he's so fucking cool...[/sub][/sub]

Hell, let's add some Ratatat, just for the hell of it! :D

And some more funky shit to hold you over.

Let the funk set you free!

A lot of that, in particular Guerrero's music, wouldn't be all that out of place in one of the asteroid bars in Freelancer. Very nice stuff.

A gift of tribute:

I want that scene from Anchorman about when a man gets in a physical and existential funk... then buys suits to fix it

then the groovy funk songs kick in

Whether or not it is considered funk or not, I'm not sure, but its still awesome music

I'll let you indulge in that before I post more, but theres plenty from where that came from

The Bee Gees and the Gap Band are my favourite from that selection. I don't know what genre this fits into, but it's an iconic one that I've always liked:
