As the title says.
Once upon a time, that being earlier today, I was playing my newly-imported Gundam Vs. Gundam Next Plus. Fuck Dissidia, GvGNP outranks it by about a thousand times[footnote]Dissidia had 22 characters, GvGNP has 66, as well as level design that DOESN'T SUCK. Dissidia was fun and all, but... My god the level design was awful. Most of the time I lost it was in that god damn purple maze place, mostly because I couldn't fucking see what I was doing. Not to mention dodging in GvGNP takes a little bit of skill, as you have a limit to how much you can dodge as opposed to mashing R+X. You lazy bastards.[/footnote]... Mostly because it was made by Capcom, people who have been making fighting games for... How many years now?
Anyway.
I was playing as Exia and had pretty much everything else at random. A fight came up where one of my two opponents was MASTER ASIA, THE UNDEFEATED OF THE EAST!
... Sorry, I couldn't resist.
What happened next was frustrating at first, but hilarious after I thought about it.
I flipped the Trans-Am switch[footnote]Basically, Exia's super mode, for those of you who haven't watched Gundam 00. I recommend you do watch it though, even if just to make fun of how cheesy it can be at times. The villain gets saved by a Disney-level song about peace at what point. I'm not shitting you.[/footnote], and, almost immediately, good ol' Master Asia grappled Exia with the beam towel and swung me around so much that Trans-Am timed out and then he immediately killed me.
So, Master Asia gets low on health and goes into super mode, and I don't even hit him with the GN Sword. I just shoot him with my tiny little beam-pistol-thing installed in Exia's sword. And then I obtained victoly. I am winner, you see.
This entire speech would probably make a lot more sense if you had any idea how the game is played. [http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=gundam+vs+gundam+next+plus&aq=0]
For those of you with PSPs, the PSP doesn't have a region lock, and I'd recommend giving it a look if you could.[/advertisement]
For an example that makes much more sense...
One time I was playing Zettai Hero Project. I'd finally almost cleared that fucking 60-floor-long dungeon, only to be killed in one single hit by fucking Flonne. Floooooooooonne. Of all people... Why is Flonne level 600 when I cleared the dungeon at 87 with little to no trouble.
I'm going to bed, fellow escapists, so why don't you all share with each other those humorous little moments that form part of the reason you play video games in the first place?
