After halo 3 o.d.s.t. do you think halo will be finished or will mircosoft milk the franchise dry?

They've actually announced that we haven't seen the last of Master Chief. There was a news thread about it.

well i myself am a huge halo fan and i personally like halo wars. Even with it had nothing to do with halo i would still like it cause I like statagy games. And i really doubt master chief is this generations sonic. If i ever see a game called master chief and the black knight i'm going strait to the lead story writer and kick his ass.

Well we know that Bungie is moving on after ODST. Microsoft, on the other hand, isn't going to let something that is so popular go way without a fight, especially after Halo 3 topped a billion played matches a couple days ago.
Halo seems like more of a Mario than a Sonic.
Of course it's not really either, Mario and Sonic games are identified by the character (any game with Mario in it could be called a Mario game or Mario spin-off) while Halo is defined by the universe. If a game doesn't follow the Halo universe it's at most a Halo tie-in (like the Spartan in DoA4).

There are three things I would still like from the Halo franchise as far as games go:
1: A Halo RTS with space combat ala Sins of a Solar Empire
2: An Battlefield style FPS where you play as a Spartan III in singleplayer in a quest to rid the galaxy of Flood in stasis and eliminate the threat posed by the other SIX Halos. In multiplayer you would be able to play as one three factions [UNSC(Humans only)/Covenant(Brutes,Jackals,Drones,and Grunts)/Separatists(Elites, Hunters, Grunts, and some Humans)]
3: A Prequel TPS ala G.R.A.W. starring Johnson during the pre-Covenant contact era fighting Insurgents
Note: For some reason I want one of these to be cell-shaded
As far as other media goes such as books there are also a few things I would like:
1: A few more novels would be fine
2: A movie would be appreciated as long as it was original and wasn't a retelling of Halo CE or something
3: A T.V. series along the lines of Stargate or Battlestar Galactica(like the first two seasons not like these last two pathetic seasons) set before "The Fall of Reach" but after Halo Wars.
Another Note: Please no more comics, they are a pain to find where I live.

I say well done to Bungie for knowing when to finish what has been a very good series. And to Microsoft... well you can't blame them for wanting to keep on wringing money out of a franchise but that doesn't make it right. When the Halo games start going downhill I'll start to ignore them as a franchise.implodingMan said:

Halo ODST is the closest thing to milking the franchise. Anyone who says that Halo Wars is milking has no knowledge of the Halo franchise. Combat Evolved was suppose to be an RTS at the beginning.
