Im surprised Doom is nominated. It should Win this year award for bieng most iconic game since 2004s Half life 2. but knowing game awards. uncharted 4 will win because its popularity contest.

So glad Inside is getting the recognition it deserves, standing along side giants in some of the more prestigious categories. Sadly, it probably won't win GOTY; like B-Cell said, it's a popularity contest and Naughty Dog is gaming's blonde-haired, blue-eyed prom queen...

Weird, I'm apparently the outlier in thinking Overwatch will win. Not that I find Overwatch more then meh myself (and its a meh surrounded with horrid anti-consumer efforts), but Blizzard fanbase is Blizzard fanbase.

I'd be a toss-up between Doom or Titanfall out of the options given. Doom probably for the SP, with TF offering some more sustainability in its MP (Doom's MP sucks, outside of the custom maps, which really can't be weighted into the games quality)

Their window was apparently anything before November 24th, so Dishonored 2 would probably be my own personal nomination.

I like how besides inside all the nominations are big AAA shooty bang bang games.
I've enjoyed Civ 6 and Obduction more than any other game this year.

I'm split between DOOM and Inside, Doom 4 is a breath of fresh air into the series and while I find the "small child scary world" genre overrated, I genuinely liked Limbo and Inside, well, the former more than the latter, but it's still great.

I should really get around to playing some of these. Doom and Inside have definitely been on my list, but that's about it. I'm surprised Dark Souls 3 didn't get more nods, but I guess it's looking a little stagnant after Bloodborne.

Best Fan Creation is pretty full of great titles, every title deserves an Award in this category honestly.
I would give it to AM2R though just to piss Nintendo off.

One of the categories is for the "Most Anticipated Game" that hasn't launched yet. I just find that to be very silly...if there isn't one, there should be an award for honest trailers...that is, trailers that faithfully depict actual gameplay.

Maybe you're right. Either way, I have no interest in ever playing that ugly game. First-person shooters are overdone and stale as fuck, and going back to what was popular in the past isn't gonna change that.

I'd probably give it to Inside too.

1. Doom? ugly? its one of the best looking game this generation. every genre is overdone by this logic. we have tons of third person cover shooters which are more stale, the generic open world games, the medieval RPGs. Doom is easily not only GOTY but the best game of this gen by long margin. its Masterpiece. try it.

2. Titanfall 2 looks but not play like run of the mil shooter. its more akin to portal and half life than COD.

And really, three categories dedicated to E-Sports? I know they have to have these kinds of categories to attract sponsors money, but still...

I'm going to agree there, the new Doom is ugly. The graphics are amazing, sure, it's all very detailed and high-res, but it's still that ugly brown/industrial look, which fits Doom, don't get me wrong, but the problem is there's a bunch of other shooters with that ugly brown/industrial shit all over the place.

That said, I haven't played it yet, waiting for a good sale. It is kind of sad though that 4 out of 5 games of the year are about shooting everything in sight, unless Uncharted 4's Drake is not a killing machine like in other games? Haven't played that one either.

It's like politics, no matter who wins, the other side is going to have a shitfit, so pretty much any game that wins too many awards is going to be denigrated.

(unless, of course, if Inside wins a lot, then you all better shut your damn mouths and recognize! XD)
