You know the game, the game that truly changed your whole perspective on gaming, the game that made you the gamer you are today.

Mine would be a demo of Ico i played when i was 10, it was only 20 minutes and for some dumb reason i thought they were speaking Spanish but it was the best 20 minutes of my gaming life. I loved it so much that 7 years later i found the game in game rankings in game informer, i recongnized it, went to Amazon, got it from Singapore, two years later, i still love it. Even after 9 years of that demo nothing, not even the full game itself had an impact on me quite like those 20 minutes.

Your story?

It would probably have to be Starcraft for me. It was the first PC game I ever owned due to my family loving Macs for reasons I still don't understand and it was an amazing experience.

made me a gamer, and i love the series to this day, not counting his "toon ventures" wind waker was alright, not a fan of the others. reckon i can live with the new one though
but yeah, it was simple enough to be accessible to my 7 year old self, but complex enough to make me a gamer

For me it had to be HL2. It was the first game that probably got me really into gaming. I also still play it frequently to this day.

ooooh good choice, i could add that to my list as well. I remember my mom bought it for me the day I got my tonsils taken out and I played it non-stop in between painkiller naps. I was sooo spaced out for nearly 2 weeks on some liquid painkillers, all I could do was drink Ensure, chew on ice, and play HL2.
Thanks for reminding me. When I had my tonsils taken out I got Warcraft 3. I'll add that to my list as well for the same reasons. Losins the tonsils wasn't so bad. I just played Warcraft 3 and got to eat as much ice cream as I wanted. Good times.

I played Resident Evil II one night at a friend's house while I was waiting for him and a few others to get ready to go do something and that completely blew my mind. Before that, the only games I'd played were side-scrollers and puzzle games. Twenty minutes with that game turned me into a survival horror fanatic and I regret nothing.

Silent Hill 2.

I played it when I got into middle school, was scared to death, and have never looked back.

Halo: Combat Evolved.

Before that, I was just a casual gamer who didn't own a console or any other medium to play games on and then suddenly I was given a game that I started playing and simply couldn't stop playing. Before I knew it, I was demanding more, like I was genuinely excited to keep playing.

After I played a bit of Halo 2, well... that was when I realised I couldn't just be a casual gamer anymore and I had to go for the real thing. So now here I stand before you, a Halo fan to the core who has had many other experiances with many other games and loved them too.

Super Mario RPG: It was my first RPG. Being a simple RPG with loose action elements, it helped break me into the RPG mold.

Either Lemmings or Final Fantasy X.

Lemmings was the first game I played, but I never really got into gaming until after I played Final Fantasy X.

Shin Megami Tensai Persona 3

It was the first game which implemented a moral choice system which made me sit up, pay attention, get to the end, and say "holy shit". It was subtle, realistic, and actually made me think about my own life. It was... amazing.

Morrowind. It took on my love of "large" free spaces from GTA and completely turned it up to 11. It also made me completely fall in love with everything that makes an RPG and made it my favourite genre to date.
