Mass Effect 2. Just got the Reaper IFF, in the middle of a debrief, when suddenly, strange lines! Try again, back to debrief, pink screen! And again, more strange lines!

It took about ten times and multiple attempts at trying other games when it finally decided to say "fgsfts" and gave me the three red lights. So, right now it should be on it's way to Germany.

Mine is just really creepy. I was playing Batman: Arkham Asylum, and I had just started playing through one of the Scarcrow parts (the third, I believe). Right after that, I got a RROD. I still believe that my 360 got so scared by that sequence it just said, "Screw this, I'm done!" and just shut off.

I had just returned back home from a job, so I hadn't played 360 in around 3 weeks or so. Piece of junk just died, just like that, on the first touch of the power button.

It was a Halo 3 edition Xbox, btw.

Fable II.

I fixed it by turning the console off and then turning it back on.

I play mostly on my PC though, and take breaks from my 360 so that it doesn't overheat.

I am thinking that getting the RROD must have a lot to do with how you abuse the unit. I have one I got three months after launch. Still works fine. It RRODd once, when I had a roommate, he played a 20 hour straight session of Oblivion, and complained that it locked up on him twice before he finally shut it off. Then the next day he told me it wouldn't turn on when he tryed to continue his game.

Never had a problem since, probably cause I kept the think away from him after that. Bought an Elite just in case, never had a problem with that one either.

The PS3 I got however had a meltdown. Never even really got to use it. Just took it back to the store. So there you go, but I am not saying that PS3 unit should reflect the reliability of the units as a whole. Just find it odd. Seems to be the opposite of the majority of peoples experiences out there.

I RROD'd a friend's box playing Red Faction: Guerrilla.

I was doing pretty good too, I had cleared the first three zones :(

We talking lengths of time, here?

In any case, honestly, I do tend to go for marathon sessions on the 360. However, it's lasted me two years, so that's admirable. But then again, so is managing sink in water while wearing inflatable armbands and a lifebuoy, considering that nothing has yet happened to all my older consoles...well, apart from the original PS2, but that seemed to have an issue with the disk laser.

The first Mass Effect. I had just landed on Eden Prime, I had gotten to the part where Nihlus was killed. I left turned off my Xbox and when I came back, and boom. It died on me. Oh did I mention that it was Christmas day 2007. I had just gotten Mass Effect hours before. Anyways that was my christmas present from Microsoft.

Tomb Raider Underworld.

I got it for Christmas, played through Anniversary, Legend and Underworld in a single playthrough the day after Boxing Day, and as the credits on TR:U ended and the main menu came up again, my screen went green, the XBox whined, and the Red Ring inflamed itself upon the landscape.

By this point though, I didn't even care. It took me a month before I even got motivated enough to buy a new one.

Last RROD I can remember occured about 2 hours into Eternal Sonata.

The internal conflict between frustration at unresponsive console and relief at no longer having to suffer through mediocre game was enough to give me an aneurysm.

Havent you heard about the Eternal Sonata bug, After 1 hour of playing ES the console just gives up its will to live.
