Ocarina of time was the first game where got really fully immersed in the game world. I just wandered from place to place for hours at a time, and it was damn fun doing nothing! Plus, when you're a kid that well/shadow temple was damn creepy... those were some good times. Goldeneye for the best fun of multiplayer, nearly everyone i knew loved that game. and mario kart for that matter.

In general the N64 didn't have much, but all the best memories are there. Ah nostalgia, you seductive temptress...

Most recently I got the orange box about a year ago, which completely turned me onto Pc gaming, which is bad because I'm poor...

Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time belive it or not I learned english from playing that game, that is right if it weren't for Ocarina of Time I wouldn't be able to write here.
Also Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask completely destroyed my interest in talking to people from the moment I started to play that game I stopped having friends and having contact with real people and that was when I was arround 8-10 I had absolutely no social life as a teenager, in fact I still have none :(

Tetris. At the simple age of five my passion for bricklaying was ignited.

That was a crafty joke. I would say Morrowind, it really got me interested in RPG's and fantasy in general. How i am glad i bought that game.

Final Fantasy VII swallowed me when I was 13. I felt immersed in a story that I was happy to return to every evening.

I've been to every one of these locations.

Twice.

Some of them three times.

Not sure if Fallout 3 changed my life for the better or worse, hehe...

I can stop whenever I want... I swear... I can...

Deus Ex but foremostly the first playthrough was so very different because i listened to Tenacious D's debut album all throughout. I vividly remember listening to wonderboy atop the apartment block full of guards.

I would never, repeat never listen to music on the first playthrough of a game nowadays. What was I thinking?!

Mine was Metal Gear Solid, on the clunky gray PSOne (simply called Playstation, all those years back).

The graphics were almost top-notch, the controls were sleek and well made, the gameplay was awesome, the story brilliant and deep.

Life changing game?..

I suppose the only game that truly changed my life was the game that got me into software engineering in the first place.. Colin the Cleaner for the Sinclair Spectrum.. 'Cos I knew I could do better than that..

Then there was Bionic Commando on the Speccy, cool faithful to the arcade original taught me that with a bit of patience and skill, underpowered machines could do cool things.

Treasure Island Dizzy, taught me patience... One Life.. No Save Games.. Everything trying to kill you. Do it wrong, Start over from scratch.

Then skip ahead to Doom on the PC, played it to death, introduced me to Multiplayer Deathmatch, Level building and customization.

Rockband made me get a real guitar and learn how to play.

Resident Evil 4 was my first journey into M rated games and basically into mainstream gaming. If I hadn't picked that game up, I probably never would have become a gamer.

And Call of Duty: United Offensive. It was my first online shooter experience and it has stolen many hours of my life. It also secured my love for shooters and PC gaming.

And Maple Story. It was my first MMO and first game I was ever addicted to, despite the fact that I was awful at at.

The Lion King for Sega Genesis is the game that made me into a gamer.

Final Fantasy VIII made me love JRPGs.

Guilty Gear XX made me love fighting games.

Final Fantasy X and Kingdom Hearts have both helped me bond with my brother. We didn't use to be close but after I sat down and played those games with him we're now pretty much best buddies.

Blazblue has turned me into some sort of teacher I guess? These days I'm spending a lot of time teaching people that want to learn how to play. I used to be the only person that even knew what that game was here at college but now 8 people play with me regularly. So I guess you can say it's helped me get a new group of friends.

I can't think of a game that has changed my life, unless you count my first video game making me into a gamer.

Crash Bandicoot 3 started me off as a gamer, I've had so much fun from this one game alone.
Desert Storm series (Please ignore the FPS which was 'recently' released from this list) as it introduced me to shooters in general & use of minor tactics. It was also the first game I played splitscreen with a friend.
Oblivion & Gears of War. The latter helped me decide to buy an Xbox, and was the first game I played online (for seven months may I add). The former just because of how I became better friends with people local to me while we talked about it in school or spoke over private chat.

Legend of Mana opened the door to RPGs for me and Morrowind violently pushed me into it.

Other than getting me into more games - they haven't really changed my life.

i don't think that you can say a game impacted your life. at least i would hope not. Rather, its more accurate that you associate games with various parts of your life or maybe you just remember some games for being just incredible and immersive when they came out.

my games where i said OMG:
Super Mario Bros (NES)
Civilization (PC)
Rainbow Six (PC)
Madden 2000 (PlayStation 2)
Battlefield 2 (PC)

K.O.T.O.R 1 and 2. Hands Down for me.
KOTOR 1......well scratch that one actually, can't really recall if it changed my life.
KOTOR 2: MUCH BETTER. While the game has it's Faults (The Fucked up Ending anyway) It still teaches a LOT about Life
