Upon following the link for the Thor [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.220936-Thor-Comic-Con-Trailer-Unleashed-Online] trailer someone posted a bit down in the thread, I started watching. However, I stopped half way through, something caught my attention at the edge of my eye, something...glorious: http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer/the-goon/promo-trailer

For those who ain't in the know, The Goon [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Goon] is a comic by Eric Powell about a two-fisted collector and all around tough guy named the Goon and his short beady eyed foul mouth partner Frankie. All set vaguely in a 1940's/1950's'ish type setting and host to their adventures and troubles against zombies, mobsters and an assortment of the weird and bizarre.

And judging by the trailer, they seem to have kept the spirit of the comic alive. It could be awesome, just saying. And the author is also writing the film, so that can only be a good thing :3

Edit: And we've got both Clancy Brown and Paul Paul Giamatti in the lead roles as The Goon and Frankie respectively.

I've known about this for the past week or so. I don't know why no one's been talking about it. I expected Movie Bob to mention it during his Comic Con video but he let me down. It'd be nice if people looked deeper into the comic industry to find gems like these rather than focusing on silly super hero nonsense. Not that I don't enjoy super hero comics, it's just that it's the only comic genre that's really well publicized and it's a crime too.

I've been stoked for this movie since it was announced a while back. I remembering seeing the first screen shots of it and having them up as my background for at least a year.

The animation looks great. It has soft colors if that makes any sense. IDK what they are doing different but it feels more lively than the typical CGI B.S. It actually looks like top of the line Stop-Motion. Everything just moves so fluidly. Blur Studios is really hitting a home run here.

I'm just wondering if they'll incorporate most of the usual characters like the Mud Brothers, Spider, Norton, Merle, Dr. Hieronymous Alloy, Fishy Pete, The Vulture, and so on. Maybe even 'ol El Hombre Del Lagarto or Peaches Valentine?

I wonder who will be voicing the nameless priest? Hell, with everything being so damn huh-hush I wonder what the release date is going to be. Hopefully it's soon because I've been waiting since they did that movie panel spoof back in 05.
