Yes, Journey is the best rap/metal/alternative/techno/classical/every other genre ever band that has ever existed. They are better than Mozart. They are better than Aerosmith.

If Jesus/Buddha/Muhamed/L. Ron Hubbard came down to Earth they would recognize Journey as the true descendents of God and worship them.

I'm seeing a lot of people saying Aerosmith. I personally can't stand Aerosmith but I know they have done a lot in terms of influencing modern rock music. I'd nominate people like Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis or Elvis. I've always been more partial to British bands.

I think it might be difficult to pin down a specific artist due to the many genres and tastes within the music industry. That said, I might be inclined to say Metallica, Guns and Roses, or indeed Lynyrd Skynyrd. But did any of these really have the mass likeability needed to be great?
