I'm pretty much saying... the main cast is boring and annoying. That doesn't make it a bad anime. Especially because it has sooo much "good" characterization to make up for it. Why do you consider it a bad anime? Have you watched a lot of it?
I disagree, I really liked the main cast, they were very comical at the beginning. However there are a lot of tedious and pointless bits n' pieces in Naruto which is why some people dislike it.

Actually most the characterisation was pretty similar, nothing special about any of 'em really. What was very interesting in Naruto was all their unique powers and the story was decent as well, much better than Bleach and DBZ.

I don't really have such a thing like 'favorite' ,maybe a favorite genre but not anime. But if i had to choose id say Code Geass ,since i saw it recently and i have long forgotten most of the stuff that was going on in cowboy bebop ,akira ,ergo proxy and other animes i liked.

Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. One of the better plot lines, and watching 40-ft tall 'mechs shooting at each other never gets old.

Any Key production would be up for nomination but to be specific, Clannad. Haven't seen any anime(exception off the other Key stuff) that I liked as much as Clannad.

Trigun. I loved the main character and the unusual setting. Plus it wasn't insanely long like some anime. (Bleach I am looking at you!)

Mine would have to be Cowboy Bebop at this time. Ive never seen such a well constructed universe with so many genres and diverse subjects. The characters are amazing (especially Ed :3) and the music just tops it off as the cherry on this sundae of AWESOME.

(There probably is a similar thread to this but I couldn't find it. So don't give me flak for making a new one please.)
Damn, you beat me to it.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. It's simply brilliant. From the detailed cyberpunk universe and all the meaty philosophy that comes with it, to the awesome action and score by Yoko Konno.

Runner up places go to FLCL for being necessary viewing for anyone between the ages of twelve and twenty one, and Elfen Lied for making me cry like a small child.
"I cried when watching Elfen Lied too, and FLCL was well COMPELTLY random!"
"I love all of your sugestions." :D

best movie: Fist of the north star or Venus wars. THough i could sit here and debate why one is better then the other in different ways and add about 5 more to the list if i really had to choose one. And i'm not even a hardcore anime fan.

Best series. Record of Lodoss War. Nuff said.

I did also enjoy Elfen Lied But never got to see it all the way through to the end.
