Hmm... well oddly enough my dream band almost happened once... o.o
Guitar: J. Mascis [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbu4LWC6ukM]... J's amazing understand and implementation of dynamic sound from his guitar, just makes him such a great guitarist... being able to move fluidly through rhythmic high gain riffing, sparkly, almost glassy clean chord strumming and hyper-melodic, face melting guitar solos, just makes him probably one of the best guitarists to complement Kurt Cobain's song writing style... which is who I'd want writing the music... of course sharing the spotlight with J... cause we all know what a Diva he is...<.<
Drummer: Dave Grohl [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzpZ_LVy760]... Don;t really care much about technical stuff on drums... not saying that Dave couldn;t do it... he just has way too much personality as a drummer to let a silly thing like technical skill get in the way of actually sounding good and contributing to the band, in a meaningful way... Just sayin, he's not exactly gonna be playing poly rhythms in 178/345 but by himself, he's more than enough to cover a powerful rhythm section and form the back bone for J and Kurt to expand upon... and Mike Watt to be motherfucking Mike Watt...<.<
Bassist: Mike Watt [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ysQ1duhNeY]... It's mother fucking Mike Watt... I don;t think there's a single thing I need to say... other than go listen to Hyphenated Man, or anything by the Minutemen or even fIREHOSE... Or rather, just listen to anything the man has ever made...<.<
Singer: Kurt Cobain [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgvUaOuEdwA]... As a lyricist and song writer Kurt really understood not only how to pour emotion and sincerity, out of his music, but he was also able to create dynamically interesting music, fueled by his love of the punk scene as well as early pop, creating music that is both simple in it's design, but holding a plethora of flavors and subtleties in it's masterfully written pop rhythm sections and it's deceivingly dynamic chord progressions... and while he was no Freddy Mercury, his voice is both powerful and and full of character... overcome with rasp as he screams and yells and low bass bellows, penetrated by sharp spikes and wispy, folky qualities as he sings...<.<
Oh, if only J joined Nirvana... Would've destroyed the world... Grunge supergroup...<.<
