Read that, watch the video, believe me, you will be SOLD! I can not possibly express just how excited this makes me :D This is the game I've been waiting my WHOLE LIFE for. Destructoid is doing a lot of coverage on this and I think the escapist should as well, because these guys and their grand vision deserves to be looked at.

TL:DR - An open-world superhero game that lets you customize your character and your superpowers to your liking :)

Sounds ambitious. The power variety is certainly enticing, but a bit early to guess how it will all play out.

Worth keeping an eye on anyway.

Um...looks alright. Honestly I'm more confused than sold. Is this actually a game or a tool box that they are creating and letting people do whatever they want with it or is it the new City of heroes/Team Fortress?
Or is it actually going to have a core single player with a reactive world where everything you do has a ripple effect?
They say build a character do they just mean cosmetically and in abilities? Or are you actually able to play a role with this character as well?
Maybe I was asking to many questions while watching that I missed something but so far, not clear on what this is.

From what I've seen they mean you build your own character in a single-player world that reacts to what you do and lets you have a large amount of customization in both your appearance and your powers (however that's going to work). Apparently they're also working on separate multiplayer. Hopefully they get co-op :)

Huh you know believe it or not that still doesn't clear too much up for me.
I think I'm going to have to wait a few months and check back before I allow myself to start either rolling my eyes ore getting excited over this game.

Incorrect. The greatest game ever that is being made would be Persona 5. Everything else comes in after that.

Looks decent, but they want to do all that? On a $500 000 Kickstarter? That's probably only going to cover half of the costs of making the game.

On a $500k budget? I really don't think this is going to get there. Don't get me wrong, it sounds awesome. However, this kind of goal just sounds unrealistic.

Looks cool, nay, awesome, but they want to license UE4 and build and entire game (that responds to your every move, no less) with it for 500K$ ?
If UE4 keeps the same licensing agreement as UE3 (IIRC, it's free until you hit revenues of about $50, 000) then that's not an issue.

Still, a game of this scope on a budget like that? I'd love to see it happen but we'll wait and see.

Are they able to say that the pledges don't count as sales?

Anyway, I knew about that, sort of, but what you're saying is they only have to pay after it ships and makes 50K$?
Hmm, pledges could count, actually. A lot of pledges are rewarded with a copy of the game, so it's essentially a sale.

The money generated from Kickstarter isn't always the entirety of the budget. They could have a bit more money tucked away for use but need the extra money for staff, engine costs, rent, etc.

I was amazed that this game didn't get picked up when it resurfaced a couple of years ago. Here's hoping Kickstarter will finally get this thing finished.

For those questioning how they can make it with what they are asking, they can't. However, they need the money to finish it, not make it. They have been working on this for several years already, but it's always had to be a side project for them. The Kickstarter is so they can devote a team to it full time and finally get it out of the door.

If you want a better idea of how it's going to play, check out this video for the original game, hero,

Seems alright. Id like to see it finished.

Also i think its worth mentioning that $500k is what they want to finish the game.

They have stretch goals going well past $2m.

It's gonna need a lot more than just lots of detail and options to be the greatest.

Looks interesting though, I especially like the idea of having big moves that require good timing. Certainly should have lots of replay value. Thanks for bringing this up.

That looked generic and boring. Just more dudes in black combat outfits with guns and katanas.

I have no idea what the game is about, no idea how it's different from other games. It really just looks like more 3rd person "fight da police with magic and guns" stuff.
