I don't remember the exact words, but the opening to Halo:CE was quite the hair-raiser if IK remember correctly.

Not a sentence, but still, the first scene of Yojimbo. Our hero reaches a crossroads, throws a stick in the air, and follows that stick right down the road after it lands. No matter how much of a noble hero he seems throughout the rest of the movie, just remember that he's always looking for the next stick to follow

You know those unforgettable opening moments...
"War never changes."
"A Long Time Ago, in a Galaxy Far Far Away..."
etc.
You know... the intro's that you'll never forget. Give me your opinion.
"War has changed..."

"PAIN... AGONY... MY HATRED BURNS THROUGH THE CAVERNOUS DEEPS..."
"Betrayer... in truth, it was I who was betrayed."
"They say a man never really knows himself, until his freedom's been taken away."

War... war never changes.

Such a great line, don't even like the fallout series that much!

Either
"War, War never changes" from the Fallouts
or
"War has changed" from Metal Gear Solid 4

(yes I am well aware of the irony in that statement)

I'm sure someone already posted this but I have to put it up. Yeah, I am looking at it through rose-tented nostalgia but that doesn't stop it from being bad ass:

This has been my favorite VG opening since I first saw it, X-mas 1999.

I was going to do that....

I do prefer the opening to MGS 3 though.

Not the opening line but the line that kicks things off in Jak 2 was pretty memorable.
"I'm gonna kill Praxis"
In the context it was amazing. Also the first words Jak ever spoke.

"In this world, is the destiny of man controlled by some transcendental entity or law? Is it like the hand of god hovering above? Atleast it is true that man has no control, even over his own Will".

Good ol' Berserk.

For best opening ever, I'm not sure, but for greatest opening this year, no contest.

"There's a hundred thousand streets in this city. You don't need to know the route. If I drive for you, you give me a time and a place, I give you a five minute window. Anything happens in that five minutes and I'm your's, no matter what. Anything happens a minute either side of that and you're on your own. Do you understand?"
Aw man, that's exactly what I was going to post.

That movie was amazing.

I think that one of the best would have to be from Baldur's Gate
"I will be the last, and you will be the first" but you really have to play the game to know what he is talking about.

"They were all dead. The final gunshot was an exclamation mark to everything that had led to this point. I released my finger from the trigger...

And then it was over."
