Name:Dan "The Free man" Freeman

Rank: Master. (QUESTION: Can we pick our rank, or do I need to start as an initiate, because I was not in the first arch?)

School of Magic: Auramancer

Signature weapon and/or spell: He boosts moral by changing personal auras.

Appearance: Tall, medium build. He has dark brown eyes and hair. His skin is very pale, and he has dark shadows under his eyes.

Back-Story: Dan grew up as an orphan under the wing of his master, who trained him in magic. He grew up, seriouse about his training and eventually, became very good at Auramancy. He joined a group of guardians, using his skills to boost morale, along with other things. He broke both of his legs once in a seriouse battle and retreated back to his master, a short while later. He finished his training and joined a different group of guardians.

He left the group after a couple of years and found an aprentice, wandering alone. He took him under his wing like his old master did and trained him. He left Dan and followed in his footsteps.

[HEADING=1]THE OBSIDIAN FLAME SPEAKS[/HEADING]
Prologue

Shadows danced about the mysterious ring of stones, flicking around the torchlight. Ghostly silhouettes moved carefully towards the central altar, each cloaked figure knew the purpose of this meeting. Each one entered into a circle formed around the altar, they bowed low to it and one by one placed little brown boxes upon it. One said to the others "The Tithe to thee, Obsidian Flame, is here and waiting for you. We the Midnight Council call thee to us, Obsidian Flame. Flame of the Tower of Eternity, Guardian of the Nine Seals, Lord of the Far Veil."
From the others was the words muttered "We call to thee on high"
"Obsidian Flame, my words are true."
"Appare, Appare"
"Servilletas, Veritas, Eternitas, Solemnitas, Serentias"
"Appare, Appare"
"I call thee, Obsidian Flame! The corners of creation shall ring with my call!"
"Appare, Appare"
"I SUMMON THEE ARRAS AURAE REX FUTURAS!"
"Appare! Appare!"
"APPARE ARRAS AURAE REX FUTURAS, ONCE AND FUTURE KING!"

There was a rumbling quake in the earth as green light split the altar. Rising from a misty crevasse in the world came a winged creature. It had wings of ash and a body of molten lava. It solidified into a black robed man with feathered wings, eyes glowing with embers. The summoners bowed low and as the specter scanned the circle it said
"Who among thee has authority to treat with me?" its voice shaking with the weight of power.
"I, Arcturus, High Master of the Guardians stand as Keystone!"
"I am the voice of the Obsidian Flame, my tongue speaks his words"
"We summon thee to impart on us the future and the will of your master. We have known the Far Veil trembles..."
The specter cut him off "The Far Veil trembles at the coming of far darker things. Evil curls in its tower brooding and waiting. The waking of things long sleeping is near, far more than the unnameable ones can hope to match."
"Oh Voice, what wakes in the Dark?"
"The Soul Scourges, the Great Lords of the Dark, rise to wakefulness. Their wrath shall shake the Far Veil a thousandfold, thy world stands on the edge of a feather. When the hour arrives, there shall be blood. So is foretold, so comes to pass. Thy Third Betrayer shall kiss the feet of the Great Lords of the Dark."
"How shall we prevent this tragedy?"
"Thy Betrayer must die first, ere he call the Scourges to thy world. The Scourges will first slay the unnameable ones down and reclaim lordship o'er the Far Veil. They must not know of this world."
The cadre bowed again and remained kneeling as the spirit began to vanish, sending up a tall beacon of green energy. Echoing as it vanished were the words "Thy fate is writ in fire and blood"

The the Conclave Chambers, Guardians and Masters and Apprentices alike were assembled. The High Masters were preparing to speak. It was uneasy, the atmosphere cloying, when Sabrina stood to speak the room hushed.
"As you all know, the myths of the Betrayers hang o'er us as the sword o'er Damocles. Fate demands he come, and come he shall, for though the called one was slain by an arrow his sword still lives."
She then unsheathed a long red sword with a silver handle which burst into sudden flame, many exhalations of shock were heard.
"The fire brand Heliophias still lives though its master, a good and noble Guardian, be dead and buried. He was fated Third Betrayer, but his death marks a change. The sword is the instrument by which the Chaos will end us. The sword calls to each and every one of thee, I know this for I feel it as I do now hold it in my hand. Its evil calls out, and none of you must answer! This blade, this instrument, is a curse on us. To destroy it, it must be brought to the Far Veil. To the Tower of the Obsidian Flame."
The room gasped, shuffling a little.
Gabriel spoke up then "This quest is not for the faint of heart or the weak of will. The depths of the Far Veil are hungering places. To remove this instrument, is to remove another way the Chaos and Darkness may Betray us and destroy us. Curse the name of the Betrayers, Honor the name Ignacio and his power over the whispers of evil that haunted his ear. This blade be his legacy, his curse, now it must be broken! The Obsidian Flame spoke and it told us of the waking of even darker things than the unnamed ones."
Murmurs of discontent echoed and Sabrina sheathed the sword "The Soul Scourges, the Great Lords of the Dark, wake from their centuries long slumber. The Obsidian Flame knows this, he has felt the tremors of their waking. Evil chews at the edges of this world, we must crush their means of entrance."
Quiet ensued as Arcturus stepped forward and set the other High Masters to stand back.
"I call unto thee, Guardians and Apprentices. To go to the Tower of the Obsidian Flame and look upon his glory is a frightening task, and evil things live in the Far Veil beyond knowing. I ask those who wish to join us to step forward. Thy guide shall be the High Priest of Avalon, he knows the ways. Avalon be thy door. Step forward if you wish to join this quest."

(Psst: Players. You are the ones who step forward!)

An old man with incredibly large eyebrows stepped forward, hobbling with a curious staff, it had a large hourglass on the top, but was otherwise normal. He took very short steps, and after a few minutes he made it the grand distance of 3 feet."I wish to lend the power of time to this quest, it will be my honor." he said slowly, with sort of a slurred but very wise and intellegent words. He waved his staff as the hourglass flipped over, and his face began to change. It went from the wrinkles of age to the smoothness of youth in no time flat. His back became less and less arched as he made himself younger. His arms grew bigger and he actually fit in the large robe he had on. He then coughed, everything had changed except for one feature, his abnormaly large white eyebrows."You have my word, I will see this through to the end." Came a much younger voice from the same old man instants ago.

Dan hung his head, as he did in thought.
He smirked and stepped forward until he was beside the young man.
He raised his head and his smirk dissapeared.
"I will aid you in this...quest."
He bowed his head and looked back up,
"I'm a master of auramancy."

Ivan's eyes were fixed on an unfinished stone statuette that hovered in the air in front of him, but he was listening, another smaller arrowhead shaped stone floated around the statuette, chipping out peices of the unfinished part every now and then, after a few moments he grabbed both out of the air with his left hand and stepped forward.

"i have no other duties to attend to so i accept your task." he said calmly, bowing his head breifly before stepping back and returning to his sculpting, both cutter and statuette floating out of his hand as he returned to his position.

Nicholas had been carefully listening, though he stayed near the back of the crowd. He still stood out slightly, as he was wearing armor unlike the uniforms of the guardians. He knew this was coming. Not this exactly, but he had a feeling the conflict was coming soon. He didnt require much time to think about the offer being made.

He stepped forward, the blank slated helmet under his arm starring without eyes. a blank gold face starring at who knew what, but starring very intently, like it had found what it was looking for and was now analyzing it.

He spoke in a firm and determined tone.
"Nicholas Kin, Low Praetor of the Rhyle and Honorary Guardian of Light, will accept this mission on behalf of the Rhyle. Our predecessors once fought side by side, for the sake of bettering this world. And so we shall once more. I accept this mission, and submit myself to the will of the High Council." He gave a low bow and then stood straight up, steady and still as a stone.

Deios, who had been lurking at the back of the chamber and stepped forward,
his chest glowing a dark orange which seemed brighter than usual in contrast to the darkness of the room,
his soot-black cloak lapping at his feet as he slowly advanced towards the centre,
his beard plaited into a single long strand due to the formality of the meeting,
raised a hand and said in a loud and booming voice
"I Master Deios of the guardians of light accept this quest, i will aid this cause as best i can,"

"For as a Guardian of light, and keeper of the old fire, it is my duty and my right to serve on this journey,"

He lowered his hand which was flickering slightly with the light of hundreds of glowing ashes which trailed from it and delved it into his pocket procuring a small runed steel rod which he clutched to his chest, he then bowed and walked back to his original poition.

Silas was brooding, to the right of his mother, Sabrina, and shuffled his feet. She looked at him, as if to tell him this was his chance to step forward. He took slow steps, turning to face Arcturus and the other High Masters. "As the Conclave of Guardians and Parliament has decided, so it shall come to pass. For if there is darkness coming, the Grey family will see it through to the end. You have sword."
