Silas stepped off on the shore and started to say "So wheres this por......tal......holy craptoast!"

The portal was a giant scar in the ground in the middle of the island spitting purple energy bolts and bits of starry sparkling material. "How long has this been here, Damien?"

Damien stared up at the sky while he thought. "40...no, 50..." He nodded. "Around 50 years. The portal opened up once the last of the dragon blood died out. Theoretically, I still have dragon blood, but it's probably been wiped out by the Avalonian magic." He shrugged then looked at the portal. "Strange though...it's not stable right now. Give me a minute; we can't enter it right now."

Damien breathed out, his breath crystalizing in the cold Avalonian air. He drew Requiem, the illusion disappearing as the blade rasped against the sheath. When Damien had drawn it fully, he appeared to become younger and younger, finally stopping in his mid twenties. Damien pulled himself up, his head seeming to touch the sky with his full authority over all magic. The stones collapsed around the portal rose up and began to stack upon each other, Damien going though sword form after sword form as fluidly and gracefully as a dance. The opaque purple portal rose up to meet the stones as Damien slowed to a halt, sword poised parallel to the ground at head level. With a shout, Damien plunged the Light-infused sword into the portal. the purple veil disappeared outwards from the blade, showing a world completely alien compared to this one. Damien twisted the blade sideways and pulled it out, sheathing the blade. Once more, he became an old man. He turned around as the capstone at the top of the portal began to gleam with the symbol for the Far Veil.

"Alright, I gotta remain here while you brats walk though to keep the portal open. It's gonna close behind us when I step through, so y'all better have everything you need." Damien's staff remained upright in front of the portal, gleaming with magic. "Hurry up ladies and gents, we ain't got all day." He said gruffly.

"Who you calling a brat, im old enough to be your papa." Zyphe said with a smile as he began to walk up to the portal. No turning back now... Gotta charge through at full force! Zyphe yelled as he did a flip into the portal, waiting for what would be on the other side.

"Might as well keep him company in there...." Kin said to himself.
He gave his head a sudden jerk forward, throwing the mask down into its proper place, turning him into a faceless, nameless entity who saw without eyes. He hopped about like a boxer staying warmed up, shrugging to loosen his neck. Then he bolted forth in a full sprint, moving surprisingly fast for a man in a full suit of armor. He let himself slide into the portal, coming to a stop right next to Zyphe.

The minute he was through the portal, he allowed his imperiomancy to kick in and he could see once more. It took him a moment to re-align his sight, but the images he saw through the mask was soon crystal clear.

He gave a short huff "huh...... not what I... expected...." His voice slightly muffled by the mask.

Dan laughed and brushed his hair into the proper postion over his head. It was probably the first time anyone could have seen his face properly.

"Well...this should be interesting."

He stepped back and ran forward, into the portal.

Silas stepped up to the portal and said "Where no mortal dares tread, right?" looking back at Damien. "Nevermind..." and he stepped through. At once it was like the world was stretched thin and shooting away from him...swearing him across the dimensions as the worlds parted from him and threw him deep into the recesses of the Far Veil. He reappeared on a spire of rock floating in nothingness, attached with a bridge leading up to a massive gleaming black tower. Against the backdrop of black with glinting starry bits of energy, purple bolts of energy and other chaotic happenstances the tower seemed to be alive and mirroring everything. Silas took a deep breath, then another, and looked at his Chronometron. One of the green crystals on the thing was glowing meaning that time was slowed down here. Dropping a piece of metal from his pocket he watched it slowly drift like a feather towards the ground. "Damn..." he said before walking of to Kin. "Fishbowl, what do you sense here?"

" Fish bowl? Ouch..." Kin replied sarcastically before continuing. "Well..." he said, crouching and placing a hand on the ground. Even with a fair distance between him and the tower, the veil energy amplified his own. "apart from boat loads of chaotic energy, which you dont need me to tell you about, I can figure about four major entities in that tower, though there is probably more. I cant tell for sure, chaotic energy tends to mask things. I can tell you they all have emotions and have physical form. Two of them are at the base of the tower, and two are near the top. All four of them seem.....preoccupied with something...."
He stood up. "Again, it wouldnt surprise me a bit if they have some friends in there."

Deios stood back and took a running jump through the portal his hands raised, he landed on the other side with a wave of heat, his fists crashing into the ground setting a small patch of strange flowers alight. He straightened up and looked around, still not saying a word.

"We climb the tower, The Obsidian Flame is not one to receive guests. His proxies guard his tower cunningly. Oh, and watch your footing. Fall here and theres no rescue..."

Silas began climbing towards the tower, gun in his hands. "Lets get moving, yeah?" he called over his shoulder.

Guys, this is pretty big so pay attention here, and especially pay attention to your Chonometrons. ;) not spoiling anything but remember what I said about time here.

Deios wiped the ash from his cloak then drew his rod and began to walk forwards, following silas cautiously.
He popped his chrometron briefly and glanced at it, something seemed amiss but he couldn't tell what, he put it away and continued walking, placing his steps carefully.

Nana stalked forward and regarded the portal like I had personally offended her, then strode through it without hesitation. Space lurched and spasmed, and time blurred, but Nana's heavy boots came down soundly and without breaking rhythm. She seemed unaffected by the vast magics involved in the transition, and immediately set off after Deios and Silas towards the tower.

"Wait for an old man! I'm not as young as I used to be!" Zyphe said with a chuckle, startin off after the people heading toward the tower. Soot hit his white eyebrows as he ran, turning them gray and black.

Ivan followed the others, keeping a slight distance away from everyone, making sure that he had enough space to move should a fight start, it's no good having a good fighting skill if your allies get in the way, he quickly glanced around him before turning his attention to the ground, he sent out a minute tremor, undetectable by anyone without a keen sense in geomancey, he used the tremor to create an image of the sorrounding landcsape of the other side of the portal, although it's affects were somewhat dim compared to outside the portal, once he had sufficiant information he turned his attention back to the sorrounding area, making sure the group didn't get ambushed from behind.

Damien nodded. "Well, they're a lively group o' pricks, I'll give 'em that." He shepherded whoever was left and picked up his staff as he walked though, the stones collapsing around him. He reached the other side of the portal and checked his Chronometer, instantly knowing time was slower. "Interesting..." He muttered. He walked quickly to meet with the group, the Mantle billowing with his movements. He nodded to the Athames, who he was to protect, making sure he had the fire brand sword they were supposed to seal away. "Cadre Leader, we're counting on you." He said.

The Athame grumbled and motioned to his bodyguards to walk on ahead after everyone and fell into step beside Damien.

Silas was worried, the big ugly tower thing ahead did not look friendly at all.

Inside, it was worse. Staircases, innumerable staircases swung hither and yon rotating in nothingness up the tower to its peak, the walls lined with art of all kind in a hundred grotesque forms. "I guess we climb this magical little elevator of doom." said Silas sarcastically.

Deios looked up hesitantly, amazed by the towers interior, he stepped forwards slowly, pulled out his rod and sent a tiny ball of magical light shooting upwards, coming to a rest about a third of the way up the tower, illuminating the dim walls with orange flickering light although the top of the tower still remained in darkness high above.

"That should be useful, only we can see it, if anyone else is up there they shouldn't have noticed." Deios said quietly as he put the rod away and continued.

The tower was enormously tall....in chaos space had no meaning so the building seemed to fluctuate from wide to extremely narrow and all around. Silas had a hard time walking up the flip flopping, twisting, M C Escher style staircases going up towards the pinnacle. It was halfway up before Silas noticed the insidious chattering noises. Those vases, upon closer inspection were actually curled up Mooncalves, asleep of course. Silas motioned to be quiet.

Kin stayed right on Silas` heels. The two were quiet as shadows. Kin drew out his knife out of the shoulder sheath, holding it point down. He was reasonably good when it came to stealth, and stayed right behind Silas, ready to scan a room or check for threats.
