CAPTCHA: learn from mistakes

I realized my prolouge is only working if the events of preview #1 have already happend when the RP starts, meaning it has to be November 2025 for my prolouge to make sense.
I haven't written part 3 (which contains the fissure and lots of dead people) yet, and I can easily change the rest if it's not November, so....
(I hope you get what I am talking about)

The problem is I'm on vacation when the RP starts (3rd to 11th of August).
The plan was to write it, send it to LA to check if it's lore-friendly and then ask him (or sb else) to post it for me.
I think I'll just write 2 different versions of part 3 (Version a: Fissure / Version b: Destroyer Cult).

Hey Ascendant, question. What exactly would be the upper limits of Thaumaturgy exactly? I get Hell Magic and all the classics like spitting hellfire from your hands, but really, what are it's limits? Or more specifically, what can it NOT do?

Also, may we be able to get a say in our opening post? I have nothing in mind really, but it'd be nice to know the option is there.

They can't become demons or literally summon demons but if they have a bit of hair they can rip your heart out a hundred miles away.

Just a tip to daft skies(on a smart phone so I'm doing this the lazy way) and to anyone I guess. Never be afraid to start with a small amount of info on a character. What matters is that you have at least some consistency when developing him/her. Would they make the same decision twice? Would their personailty, character, etc be affected a lot or a little by story event's. Also don't be afraid to have them make mistakes, it can make for more interesting characters. Lastly, keep interactions with other characters intentional and tasteful. None of us are playing superman, they will need to depend on one another. (So for instance, will the character you play have an easy tine with trust or will they need to develop it over time etc.
Okay, done with my schpeel

Hmm. I see. So blood and hair right? Does it have to be their blood and hair to have an offensive effect on them or can it be any?

Also, I'm gonna be posting my own little character snippets later today, so there's that.

Dear Director,

Im concerned for both of them, one being a powerful weapon with more lethality than anything made by man, one that could potentially make the Atom Bomb appear to be child's play. and the other being the only one the former will trust. So yes, I am concerned for both. Maybe you should try to at least act as though you are.

I would like to remind you that we are slowly being pushed further and further out of our boundaries. I dont have time for your personal feelings, the feelings between Sigma and Dragon, or petty departmental differences. This is bigger than both of us and bigger than both of them. Get it through to your head Director, I am not here to bicker. Now, tell me the current status of Subjects Sigma and Rising Dragon.

The Praetor of internal investigations.

Alexander Sinclair File
Incident 14-20

The first known recorded instance of Sinclair returning to the UK is also one of his most unsolicited and vicious attacks against the Guardians. Knowledge of the event is scarce, as Sinclair had hid his tracks well after the event, with the rest on a need to know basis, but the most important thing is that after Sinclair revisited London again, his last master was dead.

By December 15, 2020, Master Erlandur had devoted a significant amount of his time to learning as to why his student had betrayed us, as well as chart out how Sinclair operated. This research would result in several near captures by Guardian operatives both before, and after, he was inducted into the Thaumaturgy. As such, it was only natural that he would eventually come after Erlandur who at the time was living in the Avalon Complex, which at the time was disguised as a clothier shop.

From what we have pieced together, Sinclair?s initial action was to fire several explosive rounds from his AW50 into the floor that Erlandur was known to live in at 4 am. The first was in his bedroom, the second in his study, and the third in the water closet. Each round was supercharged with Hellfire, meaning that they all exploded with the force of a superheavy artillery round, spreading hellfire all over whatever still stood, as well as passing through an adjacent wall, because it?s an anti-material rifle after all. After that, he somehow organized, possibly through Imperiomancy, the coordinated crashes of 3 gasoline tankers into the Complex, igniting the fuel and burning everything inside. Finally, Sinclair activated an Thaumaturgist ritual across the entire block that trapped anyone inside, at which point he began firing round after round into the ravaged Avalon Complex and, after that, into the foundations of every other building within the killzone until Guardian operatives arrived at the scene.

Over 81 operatives, and several hundred citizens were killed by Sinclair?s assault, but Master Erlandur himself survived, through over half his body was covered in burns, with the other half crushed by the debris of falling concrete. As it turned out, the ravage assault proved necessary, as Master Erlandur managed to escape the Complex as it burned, and was trapped when the Thaumaturgist began firing into the buildings.

Unfortunately, upon Master Erlandur?s confinement into a hospital, Sinclair managed to somehow infiltrate the hospital through the virtue of blowing Erlandur?s portion of the hospital with his AM50. However, Erlandur himself did not die from that. When his body was recovered, it was noted that a large portion of his hair was ripped off, and that his entire chest had caved into his heart and left him to die. Thus, it was likely that Sinclair had, after closing in, killed Erlandur face to face with Thaumaturgy, though also judging from the fact that Sinclair?s blood was also discovered on the scene, Erlandur managed to react strongly enough with his Imperiomancy as a retaliation as well.

It is noted however, that after Erlandur?s death and the admitted ability to do more damage to the Guardians, that Sinclair would not seek the uncontracted deaths of any more of the Guardians.

So I will ask again for anybody just recently accepted, name one or two songs that aptly describe your character.

This song for some reason gives me Kin. He can seem casual but ready to kill at the same time.

Same attitude, different genre. Especially the slow part that starts at 3:00

Name: Tomas "Anthem" de Costa
Sex: Male
Race: Human Remade
Age: 25

Description: Anthem is extensively remade to the point where little of his original body is recognizable. Though he maintains a humanoid silhouette, various parts animal, human, and mechanical have been cruelly fused to his flesh, and much of his remaining body has been further altered. His face went from thin but ruggedly handsome to an eerie blank angular doll-face, porcelain-white and perfectly smooth, but segueing into a reddened angry neck wracked by scar tissue. His face is nearly expressionless, his skull faced with subdermal metal and ceramic plating. Even Anthem's eyes are far from the original, instead being donated by a species of eagle of prodigious size, granting him improbably accurate eyesight even to great distances and an eerie, intense golden gaze.

His shoulders and upper body are mostly human, but just above the elbows his arms are replaced by sleek dark metal, lengthened beyond normal human proportions and tipped with slender metallic hands with long retractable talons modeled on those of hunting cats. The interface between metal and flesh is eerily organic, steel and meat merged into one, but marked by swollen scar tissue and strange angular protrusions beneath the skin.

Much of the 'unnecessary' organs have been removed from Anthem's midsection, giving him a caved-in waist, and the muscles on his torso, back, and abdomen have been replaced with those of a great hunting tiger, granting him a long, sleek body bristling with power but marred by extensive scarring where the skin tore under the stresses of its new contents. His chest and upper back have had segmented metal plating fused their surfaces, a sort of unremovable armour, curved to exaggerate his body contours and to provide a deflective surface.

His pelvic region has had all unnecessary equipment removed, the feline musculature continuing down to his legs, which like the arms have been fused to carefully-crafted mechanical limbs just past mid-thigh. These are long, digitigrade, causing the sleekly-built Anthem to tower over most humans and granting him shocking speed and agility, while the metallic talons installed in the toes make even his kicks capable of tearing out a man's throat.

This hideous amalgamation of human flesh, animal muscle, and metal limbs and plating has an additional secret weapon: a sort of 'battery' mounted in the base of his skull fueled with a self-replenishing reservoir of sanguinamantic power, the force sustaining Anthem's warped body that grants considerable resistance to outside magicks and an astonishing ability to self-repair injuries, whether they be to living flesh or cold metal. It is this 'battery' that elevates the Remade from a common combat model to an adversary truly dangerous to any magical being.

Out of some sadistic mercy, the sanguinamancer left Anthem with his own voice: hearing the mournful, pained melodic tones coming from such a monstrous form is quite distressing to most listeners.

To conceal his wretched form, Anthem usually wraps his body in a hooded greatcloak, though he is also clad in garments of the Guardian colours tailored for his unique bodytype. He is a grim and fearful sight to any that incur the wrath of justice.

Weapon: Anthem's favoured weapon is a sturdy pump-action shotgun of the arcane form so common to steamtech societies, though its construction is comparatively simple and robust. This sizeable shotgun, almost entirely brass-plated metal but for a wooden stock and grip, is loaded with either shot or slugs (some containing enchantments!), and is sized for his expanded form. However, he is more than capable of rending foes apart with his claws or bludgeoning them with a literal iron fist.

Organization and Rank: Guardians, Initiate.

Magic: Sanguinamantic Battery (See Description)

Skills: Anthem is, as one might guess by the name, an excellent singer with an extraordinarily broad range and depth. He is also a decent cook, can operate most forms of machinery with competence (though not excellence), and can play guitar and violin, although those skills have fallen to the wayside somewhat. Most of all, Anthem is trained in common militia and city guard tactics, particularly involving the takedown of hostile mages and supernatural creatures.

Zodiac Symbol: Gemini

Bio: Anthem was born Tomas de Costa to a couple of Spanish descent living in London. Poor immigrants, Anthem seemed destined to a life of poverty alongside his half-dozen siblings, when it was discovered that he possessed an excellent singing voice. He was swiftly enrolled into a local choir where he honed his skills, seemingly a serendipitous means of getting off the street. As he aged and was deemed no longer suitable for the choir despite his excellent voice, he took what earnings he had to set out as an independent musician for some years, ironically returning to the poverty of the streets he thought he escaped. He even ran with a gang for some time, learning his shotgun skills and honing his athleticism and earning the nickname Anthem, which he has used in place of his real name ever since.

His gang in London's dark side was small and insignificant, a bit force amongst many vying for wealth, power, and control, but they had a hand in smuggling materials like drugs and other dangerous contraband from the waterfront. This ran afoul of a local crime boss, a powerful rogue sanguinamancer who formerly served the government by 'Remaking' convicts into more useful forms: human flesh grafted with industrial equipment, animal parts, and machines to be better laborers. The sanguinamancer--a Shifter--was removed from his position when, either out of some ideals of karmic justice, he began mutilating convicts in ways that he felt befit their crimes: murderers with their victim's faces growing from their chests, thieves without hands, and even more twisted Remakings.

Anthem's gang was betrayed by one of their own--a tip left by one of their members noting that a shipment of materials used in making "Dreamstuff," a popular narcotic, was left unguarded in a waterfront warehouse. They were ambushed by the Shifter's men, some killed, others taken captive, and horrifically Remade as an experiment to create better street soldiers: Remade that could crush the mage's rivals.

The betrayer pocketed the Shifter's payment and left information for the Guardians, perhaps out of remorse, or perhaps to tie up loose ends. The Guardians raided the sanguinamancer's headquarters, imprisoning him and his top lieutenants and freeing the numerous abductees the crime lord had taken.

It was too late for Anthem, however.

Now grievously and horrifically Remade, Anthem sought refuge with the Guardians, realizing he would never be able to live a normal life and with few underworld routes to turn to. The Remade now serves as an Initiate, a foot soldier for the Guardians, his unique modifications and newly-trained skills making him adept at combating the forces of darkness, though not the pains that haunt his wracked form each day.

EDIT: Reworked.
That- wha- I don-... There is a chance my character might shoot you if caught off guard.
