Yeah, I go to the gym.

It provives the equipment and motivation to work out evenly and effectively. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to go as much lately as i would like too.

You know, my initial thoughts were of Pokemon gyms. Then I realized I'm in the off-topic forums. :3 Silly me.

Well the idea of the gym seems nice and all, if only it was a free community thing. I don't quite understand the point in paying to be able to run when a person can do that by just running outside. :D I suppose it is a nice place to interact with others trying to stay healthy in be and shape and all.

Who knows how many friends happily met in a gym discussing the various benefits of working out on various machines. :D

I've never had a particularly bad experience with a gym, and they provide a good environment to get fit and motivate yourself.

I find training at home harder to stick to, and training in front of friends more awkward at home than a gym for some reason.

If people want to spend their money and time getting fit, then kudos to them, whatever form it may take.

For the most part, I do calisthenics at home. Full ROM squats, A number of different push ups, Leg lifts, Tuck ups. I avoid crunches, because all they do is ruin your back.
One to Two days a week, I got to the gym and do Olympic lifts and kettle bells.
Some days, I go to this park with a bunch of pull up bars and dip bars, and other such bars.

In my opinion at this age, the gym is (almost) completely unnecessary and pointless. I agree with them that going to a gym keeps you healthy and active, but when you're young and you have time outside of school you choose to spend it in a GYM?
It just seems so stupid to me
Im 14, and i gym. I quite like it to be honest, i play squash, and i feel that gym helps me improve my fitness temendously, while also keep me calm and help me with my GCSEs. But i know it isnt for everyone, and you should feel bad about it, some people just dont enjoy it.

I go to the gym regularly.
Muscle development stays with you your whole life. It's also easier to obtain the younger you are.
And there's a lot more to going to the gym than "going to the gym."
The exercises you choose to do can help you strengthen weaknesses, or improve overall strength, endurance, health, cardiovascular, burn excess calories or simply an exaggerated method of stretching your muscles.

You don't just go inside like it's a night club and poof, you're 'that guy'.

Just because your currently skinny because of growth spurts doesn't mean that your current diet and daily exercises will keep the frame you have now. Far from it, you'll absolutely put on weight unless your vegan for some reason.

Plus I know a lot of assholes that go to the gym
Weird, I found that the people that go to the gym are usually the ones who are either there to work out and don't want to be bothered, or don't want to be bothered and work out to gain that 'aura'. And the people who are social are usually the friendliest people I've ever met.
