"And I didn't know meatheads had such clever insults" 3W replied, "As for a plan, I reckon the first port of call is to simply jack in and test the defences. A little recon will do no harm, and we'll know what we're up against"

"Programed with sarcasm too! wow, you must have been expensive."

Just as Scott finished his sentence a guard opened the door. Scott quickly drew is gun pressing it against the guards forehead.

"In the real world, you'd be dead"

Beads of sweat ran down the guards face. Scott turned to the group and smiled before lowering his gun.

"Out there, if we were on a real mission. Not in some business building hacking our bosses for a blank file."

"If we were out get him, he'd have to be trying to kill us. So I doubt that in the real world he'd have just walked in and let you aim at his head. In fact" the robot continued, "In the real world, pointing a gun at your employers guard's when they walk up to you is a bad route to getting good jobs"

Marko piped up. "Okay, guys. Let's just talk about a plan. Scott, Damien, Yansec claims there aren't any real-world defenses or guards to get through, but I doubt that's true, so you may want to scout it out. The terminal is on floor 78, which we currently don't have access to, but the company says we have access to floor 79 and can climb down to 78 through air ducts. Again, I doubt it's that easy. You two should probably go check it out."

I'm still here, ya bastards. Live damn you, live!
Damien nodded. "Alright, follow us." He sighed. He turned around and walked down the hall, opening the elevator and going to level 79. He looked at the others who were staring dumbly. "Well? Hurry up. Scott and I will clear a path, you guys do...whatever it is you do. Sound like a plan? Good. Now get in the damn elevator." He said gruffly.

Marko nodded. "Okay, I guess the Hackers can go on the field trip too. Any objections?" He walked down the hall and grabbed the elevator door before it closed, stepping in with Damien and trying to avoid provoking a conversation.

"Well you guys have your personal hacker-do hickies don't you? In my opinion hacking in from the room they want you to isn't the best idea."

Going to see the Gorillaz Oct. 14! W00t!

<spoiler=OOC> I hate you so much for that :p

Marko thought about it. "You're right, but they might have defenses up that we don't know about, so we might as well point out the cracks in real-world security, too."

Damien shrugged as everyone loaded up in the elevator and he pressed the button for level 79. "Whatever. Scott, you and I take care of any real world defenses, let the deckers do their job, and hope that too many cooks don't spoil the soup." He turned to Marko. "How the hell do you do your jobs, anyway? How do you hack?"

<spoiler=OOC> I checked this out with Dethklok before hand, but some stuff's thrown in. This post may be prone to edit.

Marko was a little nervous being in an elevator with Damien, but he answered the question. "With this," He held up a faintly trembling hand, displaying the plug in the center of his palm. "Basically, we plug it into the holodeck and it puts us into a virtual reality representation of cyberspace. It's like a massive wireframe loop of tube with one way in and out, and glowing cubes that represent messages, programs, and downloads flying through it as they change location, and you can grab files to change direction. Smaller tunnels break off from the main tunnel - those are folders - and on the walls of the folder tunnels are all the files. Security programs... are tricky. Sometimes they're robotic drones that'll chase or shoot at hackers, and some appear as walls, waves, or other some such. If they shoot or touch us, we can be trapped, physically hurt, killed, or have our minds erased, but I don't think they'll have anything really dangerous on a test run," He looked a little more nervous now, "With weak programs, you can usually delete them pretty easy, but the ones used by actual corporations can only be disabled. Stealth is key, because in a well designed system, alerting one security drone will set off every bot in that side of the loop."

Marko shrugged. "Hey, I've run tests for companies before. There's usually nothing lethal in this sort of thing, especially since they've sunk some cash into our rooms. And besides, we're testing them , not the other way around." He stopped for a second. "Actually, what the hell do I know. We're working for a business world anomaly, and none of us actually know why. Today might be full of surprises."
