So yeah, I've ssen a few, there's the disney one, where a guy starts singing and dancing and before you know it, everyone is, just to ask his gf to marry him.

So here's a question, two in fact, for females, which would you prefer, your bf to go all out or for him to do it in a simple, quiet romantic session just between you two? For the rest of you, what would be the coolest way to pop the question and what ways have you seen that impressed you?

Freeze the ring in a block of ice and melt it in her hands. That should be pretty cool.

Tangential thought: when did the phrase "pop the question" come into the common vernacular. It seems a terribly roundabout way of referring to an act thats neither offensive or taboo.
