The first time I beat it it wouldn't give me the badge. It did on a different pc though. So i will say it is slightly hard

Here, but I warn you, it's mind numbingly fustrating. I can't even get past the bit in the corridor where you have to jump.

Shit was easy, jump through one of those flames, burn the rope holding the chandalier, and it should fall on the "thing" and kill it. Was I just trolled?

Forget breathing water, that's easy. This is more like trying to make a pie-cake hybrid, it doesn't work.

I'd say the original Mech Commander on PC. The later story mode levels were a real fucking test in frustration and tedium.

Battle Toads: hardest game on the face of the planet. I kid you not.

The hardest one I've never played (but so, so want to) is Steel Battalion, just because of that ridiculous 40 button controller. I still want to buy it though...

I finished I Wanna Be The Guy, but it still stands as the hardest game I've ever played. That shit is HARD.

Fun fact for anyone who's ever played it/heard of it: someone's almost managed to beat Impossible mode on it. Even so, it's still the hardest difficulty I've ever seen in a game: nobody has beaten it yet.

Is it just me or is Half-Life 1 really, really, hard? It's not that each individual encounter is hard. It's that the enevitable damage caused by overly-competant enemies who can take a good amount of damage before dieing really adds up before you reach a health station.

Here's a clever game idea that gets trickier as you go along. Probably not the hardest game I've played, but there is point where I either go "I don't have the dedication for this" or "This is just stupid" and Cursor*10 [http://www.nekogames.jp/mt/2008/01/cursor10.html] is in the first category.

Level 15 took me a while, but I beat it.

Ninja Gaiden 2's bosses at the end was pretty much a dick move and a middle finger to someone who wasn't used to teeth grindingly hard video games, like I am. I mean, I can usually ALWAYS find a way to beat something in an RPG or a FPS or a RTS, but those bosses (and especially the last boss) was a bat out of Hell.

EDIT: Oh, and another nod to a difficult boss would be Monster-Ock on the 64 version of Spider-Man. Guy was THE *****. Still haven't beaten him.
