The major selling point of SoC is the total sandbox gameplay, which CS doesn't have much of. Granted it still has the atmosphere, but you can't just roam free like you can in SoC. Either way, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. II looks like it could be amazing.Crossborder said:You haven't actually played it, have you?GiantRaven said:Don't bother and skip straight to the third game. Clear Sky was a mess.Cybele said:I've heard that Clear Sky is a lot harder. Haven't gotten around to playing it yet tho, still messing around in SoC. It's awesome!
Edit: ninjad by OP! D:
Everyone always says to skip Clear Sky, but I played it, and with the latest patch there's less bugs than in SoC.
It's a shame, but under the bugs lies a really solid game. It still has the atmosphere and locations of SoC, with all the gear upgrading of CoP.
Eh I beg to differ. All they did was flank you, and once you realised that they were easily beat.squid5580 said:FEAR the AI was damn smart.
Far Cry a stealth game? Is that one or two? In both I usually just grabbed a truck, raced to an enemy compound, parked it as mobile cover and hoped I could shoot them all before the truck exploded. Usually worked.Onyx Oblivion said:I'm going with Farcry on 360.
Stealth game where the AI can see you anywhere...Hard as fuck.
They wear body armour so can take a beating to the chest, but they still get dropped by a single headshotWoodsey said:I've always found Half-Life 2 quite difficult on normal, not really sure why.
And that kind of annoyed me about Crysis; the KPA soldiers can take far too many bullets.
So Crysis but no invisibility suit... that does not sound like fun.Mr.K. said:OP: Hmm, I found Crysis dead easy once I got used to the jedi powers, the only annoying thing was the x-ray-sniper vision all enemy units possessed, also known as poor stealth elements.
And this brings me to FarCry, predecessor to Crysis but this time without a super-powered-jedi suit, just a dude with a gun and an ugly shirt, it was balls hard to say the very least.
Also had the same stealth "features", the enemies would see you miles away through jungle.
Alright, sorry for assuming things.GiantRaven said:Yeah I have. I bought it on release. I stopped playing it around the time I was getting mugged for all my equipment and bandits in leather jackets were surviving close-range shotgun blasts to the head.Crossborder said:]You haven't actually played it, have you?

If patches have sorted out a lot of the mess though then it's probably worth a look. I couldn't really get behind the faction wars system either, the loner exploration aspect of Stalker always appealed to me more.
I agree. Though it does get a bit better when you get the better armour, but that just makes it feel more real, it is the armour saving you not your little fleshy self. Plus even at max equipment I still watch my back in the starting areas, caugth offgaurd a pack of dogs can still do serious damage.MulticolorCharizard said:Stalker: Shadow Of Chernobyl

Its hard because you have the durability of a sheet of paper, it's hard because ammo is about as easy to find as a plot in pac man and it's hard because radiation fucking everywhere.
But fuck it, I love it.
Well they still shouldn't able to take anywhere near as hits as me in my buttock-defining power suit!YouBecame said:They wear body armour so can take a beating to the chest, but they still get dropped by a single headshotWoodsey said:I've always found Half-Life 2 quite difficult on normal, not really sure why.

I think the surviving shotguns to head is a playablity decision as oppose to an error. Shotguns were made more for anti-mutant effect as oppose to anti-human and so probably counts as a spread shot all the time. I know I have seen this in CoP but in SoC and CS I always used the rifles and they take bandits down like fish in a cup.Crossborder said:Alright, sorry for assuming things.GiantRaven said:Yeah I have. I had the good fortune of buying it when the patches were out, so I never dealt with that mess.
