It was an interesting story and he was wise to use something nostalgic but also current enough to be somewhat relevant. Well done on the modding as well.

Gonna read this in the morning. Nothing very scary, it's just the black background with the white text. Going to comment more in a few hours.

Watching the videos as a cynic makes it really obvious to me that it was just modded, it's really easy to do with a rom of an old game. Take out textures, change the text of certain prompts, create a save state then change the code to make zoras drown. Some of it seems like it would be a real ***** to program though...to the point that I'd say he's either commited, talented, or completely screwed.

Regardless of that I'm unsure of whether the author is an amazing story teller or the if it's the connection to a childhood memory but I really enjoyed reading the story.

Posted this in another thread about the same thing. Copy/Pasting.

Its just another Video Game Creepypasta. Admittedly, an above average video game pasta that is fairly well written and much more entertaining than most (than all, actually, as this was the first I've read that I truly enjoy, and that seemed halfway believable), but a video game pasta nonetheless. The videos were a nice touch and will really help in fooling a lot of people though. Its biggest downside though... IT WASN'T SCARY! Its hard to make "Lost Episode" pastas scary, and while this author kind of comes close, he just doesn't quite get there. As a story, a fun read. As a Creepypasta, not so much.

If I may use my Creepypasta lingo... *ahem* Very well cooked noodles with just the perfect amount of sauce, though it would be better if it was topped with sautéed mushrooms and Parmesan cheese. Would eat again though.

...THEN WHO WAS PHONE?

Haha!

Always love some good creepy pasta. This was good, but not as good as the Lavender Town Tone. That one makes you shit ALL THE BRICKS!

I think the cartridge is just broken. For example, the bursting into flames things could be some forgotten code when the game was still in development but never used and locked out of normal play being brought out from damage. They often leave such code in, since it would take much effort to remove it with virtually no payoff (such as the Arwing enemy in Ocarina of Time). Still, it's very creepy.
