Here he is. Also, I deeply apologize for how long this guy took me. I was almost done with him when the Power failed on me. So I had to start from scratch, sorry.

Name: Allister Cain

Age: 29

Occupation: Commandant [footnote]For me at least, Commandant is equal to the rank of, let's say Colonel. I just want to call my character Commandant here though.[/footnote] of the 23rd Chimera Containment and Analysis Battle Group.

Appearance: Think of a Blackwatch Commander from Prototype, midnight black equipment and all that. Technically, you won't see my face anyway so that image will suffice.

Gender: Male

Possesions And Weapons: Primary Weapon: Plasma Rifle potent enough to boil solid metal, Secondary Weapon Railgun, Tertiary Weapon: One Pistol with the rough ballistics equivalent of a Magnum and Cryo Grenades.

Bio: Allister Cain was born on the Population Ship Argos, only son to a Lieutenant Coedus Cain of the 2nd Argos Shield Battalion and Doctor Eleanor Cain, chief Medical of an entire Sector of the ship. By all accounts, he was a Physically and Mentally sound little boy, with no Unnatural defects plaguing his Health. This of course would mean that, barring artificial events like a Plasma Bolt burning his brain, he would live at the peak of Natural Human conditioning. With the Technology Dr. Cain had under her disposal however, Allister would be insured to be a step beyond unaltered Humans.

Dr. Cain would, over the years, modify her son's genetic structure to insure the maximum chance for his success in the Universe they lived in. Of course, while normal Physical Augmentations were only to be expected, Eleanor focused more on the Intellectual side of her child. She herself was a Connoisseur of all things Intellect. Philosophy, Economics, Psychology, Medicine, Politics (Though she never actually applied anything she learned, such awful back stabbings. Ugh!) and a whole host of other subjects, and she imparted her love of them to her son who responded eagerly.

Lieutenant Cain on the other hand, would smuggle his Son away from his Mother's possessive grasp and teach him the finer points of beating people up, and convincing other people to beat people up. You see, while Coedus loved his wife to death, he was always somewhat exasperated by her lack of human experience. Rather, she was not in any means a people person. She would shut herself in her room for days, pouring all of her focus into reading Wracksplutt's new theory of alternative Energy by Harvesting Suns while her Husband poked her with a pencil, wondering out loud why anyone would take the name Wracksplutt seriously, much to his wife's annoyance.

So, while Eleanor was focused on the Academics, Coedus was focused on the art of getting people to like you. This has a varied effect, seeing as his son was more of a Scholar than a Talker, but the effects would be shown later in Allister's life. The First time Eleanor caught Coedus smuggling him out of her Jurisdiction to learn how to fight, she nearly went into an Apoplectic rage, much to Coedus' amusement. This, in turn, started a long, and amusing, but mostly long rivalry at attempting to Influence their son.

Speaking of fighting, Coedus was not known as an honorable man. One time, during a bar fight that went fairly out of control, he had kicked 2 men in the balls and, while they were down, uttering screams that pierced the sound barrier, he smashed their face with a chair leg. Coedus deigned to pass on his dirty fighting to his son, and was rather proud of the results. Though there was a time where Allister repeated the bar fight scene with somewhat more creative acts against 2 rather vocal bullies. Coedus reflected, under the Indignant screams of the bullies' parents and his livid wife, that he should have told Allister when and when not to to use a power socket, leg chair, and aphrodisiac in exactly that manner, though Coedus was quite amused with his son's creativity.

In any case, while his parents had a constant low level rivalry in getting their son to like them best, Allister went along and got his own personality, a rather strange mix of his parent's own actually. He had his mother's dignity and intellect, combined with his father's immense sense of humor and lack of Fair play. However, Allister also had a deep, and constant desire to further mankind which, in his mother's sly tone, meant that she won that round.

When he was still a child, he dreamt of becoming a scientist. To create Inventions and Discover wonderful new things to advance Humanity's cause across the stars. When he learnt of the Wave, and it's part to play in driving out Humanity from it's Cradle, he dreamt of stopping it.

Under that new guideline, he joined the Information and Analysis Bureau of the Humanity's Greater Defense Fleet. The Bureau was mostly interested in the protection of Humanity through knowing as much as possible about everything, thus making them one of the more Clandestine Bureaus under Humanity's disposal. His parents, who had long figured that Allister couldn't stop once he set his mind on something, gave him their blessing. Allister, who was 18 at the time, would spend many hours learning the Bureau's craft. Considering that they haven't had a decent vacation in years, they decided to set up a home on Terra itself.

When Humanity arrived at Terra Prime, Allister was one of those who didn't let up their guard. His drive in hunting down the Wave, whether or not it existed, was looked on as dangerous to some, but he was not the only one who thought as such. There were a fairly large group of Military personnel, in and out of the Bureau, who believed the Wave was not gone yet. As such, and to avoid any friction between their compatriots, each of these personnel were organized into separate battle groups all collectively called The Observers, all of which would have a hand in dealing with the Wave should they reappear.

The 6th Ogre First Response Battle Group, 'We're not as creepy as THOSE Fuckers are. The 13th Reaper Sterilization Battle group, 'Leave nothing even remotely able to hold life.'. Lastly, the 23rd Chimera Containment and Analysis Battle Group, 'We will burn our own to Hold the White Line.. Unfortunately the Government did not supply these Battle Groups with the Necessary resources by the time the First Instance occurred.

As reports came of the First City falling, and Allister realizing that it was the same city as his parents went in. He, quite vocally, demanded that Funds be redirected into The Observer Initiative. The lack of funds caused the Ogre Battle Group to have been delayed at reachin The First Zone, though there were doubts they could do anything anyway.

Several says later, when the Survivors began to stumble out of the First Zone, Allister's father was one of those who managed to escape. Allister visited his once jolly father and, even though the Chimera wiped out any record of the conversation, it was well known that Allister came out a different man. His eyes blazed with an inner fire that awed his men. Once the funds were approved, Allister began to upgrade his Battle Group to an Insane degree.

Once reports came in that a Second Instance may reoccur, The 23rd was dispatched to observe the event. They were given the orders that, once all Information could be possibly gained from the event, that 6th and 13th Battle Groups were to be moved into position to Liquidate the Threat. Commandant Cain and the rest of his men were dispatched to the Zone 3 hours later.

OK, Starting Post Now.

The thick fog covering the city of Greyon had confused everyone. Only two people had walked out alive, and before they could be questioned about what had happened, they both killed themselves. The note one of them left said 'He is the second. He is not the last. He can see us all now, and forever. He saw deep into me, and asked me to leave.' He one who left the not had attempted to cut out his heart with a fork, and bleed to death. You are in a town outside the city, and the fog is steadily expanding towards you. You have a choice. Enter into the Haze, or wait until the Haze finds you, creating an earth filled with the mysterious fog.

Sophie woke up, to the annoying sound of her alarm clock. She rolled over and turned it off. She stood up and walked over to her window. The weather outside was terrible. She sighed and walked over to her wardrobe. She opened it up and pulled out her clothes. She put them on and left the house. She walked down the street to her local shop store and bought a can of energy drink. She sat on a bench outside.

Wednesday unplugged form the terminal with mixed feelings. The reports, which he had gained using a combination of old ID and determined hacking, left him with a sense of foreboding, but that he was used to; only a fool fears nothing. what was worse that he felt good. At last, there was something for him to fight, here on the planet, and no one could tell him he was no longer required.

Easing his was out of the apartment which he used as his base of operations, Wednesday entered the lift and sent a signal to the controls to start it moving. As he waited to arrive at the bottom, he began to plan, thinking of what he would need for his campaign. His weapons were atrocious, but the engineers had left him with enough nanotech and intelligence that he could probably manufacture something useful. But where to find the materials he needed?

His was brought back to the present as the lift pulsed him a message that he had reached the bottom. He left the lift and moved through the foyer, and headed outside. As he headed towards the store for the most common of his needs, he noticed a girl sitting on a bench, in conditions he realised were unpleasant to humans. his curiosity piqued, he approached

"What brings a young lady out here in the cold and wet?" he asked, and being a robot he had no fear of being 'creepy', "I thought people like yourself disliked this kind of weather"

Sophie took a sip of her drink and looked up.
"Uh...I-I don't mind this weather. I prefer it..." She said. She hated talking to robots, "Umm..."
She looked down at her shoes. She always got nervouse when a robot was around.

Allister breathed deeply, savoring the cold air being filtered through his mask, and held it. Several seconds later, he breathed out, causing a large white mist to flow out of his gas mask, the Instance seemed to be happening just as quickly as last time, if not more so.

The Battle Group had fanned out the moment they had a clear view of Greyon. They had arrived several hours before the Fog had taken over the town. He had ordered his men to Initiate the Containment protocols and marked the White Line at 12 square miles around the city, the Majority of the Command and Information force was 3 miles after that while the Containment division handled everything between Grayon and the White Line. They themselves would not interfere with anything occurring within 6 miles of the city, seeing as their job was to Contain and Analyze after all. Pass that mark however, The Incineration and Cryo Devices buried under the ground would start to Initiate via Remote Controlled A.Is. If the Machines themselves failed, Manual authorization would be allowed by any lieutenant after 10 seconds of Mechanical Failure. After 15 seconds, anyone with a simple Radio could Initiate the Sequences by a simple command of 'Go'. If Containment was breached, then an Automatic Purge of the city would be authorized, which would be carried out by the 6th and 13th.

Of course, there was the Analysis portion of the entire Assignment. Numerous devices were scattered at random patterns throughout both the City and the surrounding area within the White Line. The Devices were meant to analyze everything that would be conceived as useful. Of course, the 23rd were still unsure if this was another instance of The Wave or something else all together. The Devices would handle the analysis of the Fog themselves. Once confirmation has been set up that it is, indeed, the Wave, Sterilization would begin immediately.

Still, Machines could only so so much. Allister had sent 5 Unmarked observers into the city, hoping to gain any information at all once the City would become a White Zone. Once the Fog started up, contact had been immediately lost. Meaning Chimera had NO idea what the hell was going on in there in the first place. Meaning that all they could do right now was simply observe and contain, and containment was still unsure since we don't even know if the Old methods would work on whatever the hell this thing is. To make matters worse, the damned thing was spreading out of White Zone Prime!

So he had brought himself and an entire squad with him to the next estimated point of, well, consumption really. 8 men, all armed to the teeth and highly skilled and genetically augmented. Not to the level that his mother had done true, but still noticeable enough. He would lead group Alpha in, clearing the door so to speak. If contact has not been made in 4 hours or until the Fog has reached the 3 Mile mark, then group Beta and Charlie would be sent in as well. If by the time the fog has reached the 6 mile mark and no contact has been made or a base camp set, then Delta and Lamba would abort their mission.

Still, they were here to observe, analyze and contain the Outbreak. All civilians met that had entered the mist and would not be insane would be tagged with an electronic bug for pickup by either Alpha or their follow up squads. Any and all of the Insane were to be incapacitated non lethally first once they entered the fog, to see if they could be reasoned with. If not, then termination on site would be the new directive.

He signalled the Point Man, code named 'Brute' for the fact that his father was a Professional Wrestler and had his son enhanced with that in mind. Still, he was more of a gentle giant than a Testosterone filled idiot anyway. He waved to him to move out, and to bring 'Meat', by being virtue of the youngest guy at 18, and 'Dick' for being, well, a Dick to move. They were at the edge of town for now, but judging by the way the Fog was coming, they'd come into contact by the time they reached past the midpoint.

He watched as they ran off and radioed in a last reminder to his men, sending out an open transmission to all Chimaera communications relays, clutching his shoulder radio as he did. "Remember boys, we are NOT here to pound the foggy bastards to whence they came. That's the 6th's job. We are NOT here to sterilize every inch of this place like an obsessed Housewife, that's the 13th's job. We are HERE so that we will figure out what the HELL the 6th is going to pound to dust. To figure out what the HELL the 13th will clean up. Civilians are a secondary priority, remember that. Now do your jobs." He altered the Frequency to communicate with base command next "It's Cain here, we're about to move into the White Zone auxiliary now." He knew they wouldn't reply unless he said the code words 'Why are we here Chimaera?'. They weren't sure if the Fog was sentient or not, but it was best to be safe anyway.

Breathing slowly, he waved to his men to follow him into the approaching abyss.

If you have objections with the squad please tell me. I could get them lost in the ensuing Fogginess and let them be killed at your leisure.

Within his crystal mind, Wednesday sighed. Such was his fate that in his old age, even the children he had fought to protect saw him as an embarrassment. Well, that was no strain on his processors; he had a job to do anyway

"Well, I'll let you be then" he said to the girl, careful not to let the disappointment into his voice, Disappointment? asked a secondary core, and he realised that he was indeed disappointed; he had wanted to talk to this human, to find some kinship outside of the security AIs who called on him for advice. He shrugged, mentally and physically, and set off toward the shop

On Tv's and news sites everywhere reports are coming in-
And ordered evacuation of all squads within 50 miles of the haze. Everyone within the 20 miles perimeter will be taken into quaratine. The quaratine officer will judge if they are to be 'removed' or simply released back into society. Anyone who does not comply will be hunted down.

@RockyH: I'll assume that announcement is for non Chimaeran Forces all right? or is it also intended for the 23rd?

Allister nodded, looking at his HUD, a Public statement would have been issued by now. Most of the local defense force would be forced to leave so as not to interfere with the 23rd's ongoing operations. Of course, that wouldn't stop the wannabe heroes trying to save as many civilians as possible. Nothing could really be done with that of course. Though a good portion would probably fail and die in the attempt, there would still be some lucky enough to get a few people out. They would, of course, be publicly acclaimed heroes, risking their lives to save others while at the same time uttering 'Aw shucks it was nothing really.' Bah. Idiots who could look at This and say it was nothing would be blind, egotistical fools. Still, the ones who would disregard their orders and die in the process would fall to the Fog, thus giving the 23rd more data to analyze.

He looked at the approaching Fog and shuddered involuntarily. Though the rest of his men wouldn't show it, he knew that they were as nervous as he was. The Data streaming into his helmet showed slight elevation in blood pressure, internal temperature, nervous shaking, sweat production and, oddly enough, sexual arousal from one of his men. He chose not to further that line of thought.

In any case, they had passed by several abandoned houses since the mission started. Most had open doors with haphazard materials thrown around suggesting that the occupants had left in the Initial Wave of refugees. The Vast majority of the houses spoke of Hope really. It was evident that, after 300 years of living amongst the stars and with the dust of alien worlds sticking to the boots of everyone, that the first to arrive on Terra would be those hoping that the stories were true, of beautiful, pure, green Terra, would only be natural. That each and every family on Terra presently believed it enough to upend at least a portion of their lives and plant it here was a truly brave act.

The Fact that Wave was stealing away the Hopes of this people contributed to Allister's very long list of reasons for why the Wave should be terminated. Still, bathing the planet with Plasma Fire would do little real benefit. After all, it was not entirely certain if the Wave would survive that or not. After 300 years, still so very little was known about the Wave. This was, of course, the Principal reason for the 23rd's existence in the first place.

He was snapped out of his reverie by a signal from one of his men, 'Gear' as he was nicknamed by the Squad, was waving his hand in the air, evidently finding something of interest within the House. He signaled his men to create a perimeter and, after sending 2 men ahead, came inside.

He nodded to Gear and said "Yes Gear, what did you find? and if it's another one of those Virtual Reality sets then Goddamn man, wait for your next pay check." He teased the known tech freak lightly, seeking to lighten the mood a little.

Gear chuckled a little and replied "Unfortunately no chief, but there is something possibly dangerous here." He gestured to an abandoned terminal, apparently it's original occupant was empty. Gear continued "That sir, is a Control Terminal for a Combat Droid. Not only that, but it doesn't seem to have been removed during the Evac period. This one seemed to have been removed only an hour or so ago."

Allister's eyebrows raised up slightly at the revelation. "Are you 100% sure of this Gear?"

Gear for his part merely tapped his gun and said "Positive Sir"

Allister nodded and thought deeply over this new development. Of course old Military Droids ere discarded after their design has become obsolete, it was nothing particularly new. But the fact of the matter was that if a Battle Droid, or worse, MORE than one Battle Droid was present then a possible snag might occur. There was the possibility that a Battle Droid, even decommissioned, would not look upon a deserted Village freeway, hypothesize that it was a battle zone, and act accordingly. But those things were made to last, so that possibility was small. It did not help that the Droids may or may not fire at Humans. Afterall, some of those Droids were built with the express purpose of wiping out all Organic Life then self destructing with a small Nuke placed within it's core. The Nuke of course would have been removed, the same with any significant weaponry, but he couldn't take the risk.

He was highly annoyed, but decided to do it anyway. He looked to Gear and said "All right, i want you to bounce a signal through the Devices currently active here. I couldn't care less for the Droids that wandered into the Fog, let them fight their way out for all I care. Hell the Memory core might show something interesting. But as for the mechanical Bastards out right now, we can't be gentle here. They might harm the civilians and damage the devices currently present. We'll need to take them out if they're hostile. I want the signal to bounce through all the Devices currently outside the fog, and make them immediately stop once the Fog over takes them. I want he signal to basically order the droids to stay PUT and send a signal of their current location to us. We'll dismantle them along the way. If there are Droids actually smart enough to contact us, then they will, seeing as their self preservation program will insure that they will. Any Intelligent Droid that does not contact us or just disobey the Signal, fire first and loot it for spare parts later"

I don't fuck around with my Posts. Most of them are fairly descriptive. It won't ALWAYS be Text Walls, the text will eventually lessen in time when there's less stuff for me to say but for now, maybe 2 or 3 more Walls and I'll be fresh out.
