Perhaps not a legend, but The Rev died recently.
damned shame about that, dude could play, I've been listening to them for the last few days in memory of The Rev after downloading all 4 albums from Itunes and can't help but wonder whats going to happen to a realy good band...
I know, that one band i really wanted to see live, and now i doubt i will be able to.
Cull me if you dare!
Just to make you jealous: I saw A7X live in concert 2007, warming up for Ion Maiden. Awesomest summer memory I can remember.

Layne Staley from Alice in Chains.

Not really a band with a definable overall style, but a lot of their stuff is very metal.
totally forgot about him, it was a shock but then again it wasn't

saw them live 3 times, hated every live performance apart from the one at leeds fest 2008 and that was only because they sang 1 and a half songs before getting some random woman up from the crowd to sing and instead she just cried into the microphone whilst they all just coughed and spluttered away

I do have to admit their studio releases are better than their live performances, yes, but with such an awesome audience and a mostly good band (even though they sound samey live), it was pretty awesome.
