*The veterans seemed to love him hug*

Most of them that saw him there ran/hobbled over to him to shake his hand. Even one of the really old WW2 vets that was in a wheelchair because he couldn't walk very well got out of his wheelchair and walked over to shake the mans hand.

*That would have been humbling for old Dick. Hug*

For our small country town march we had the ten blokes left toddle down the street and then straight to the pub for two up. It was a good day!

*I assume so hug*

Heh, I was down at the Sydney march because one of my younger cousins is in the RAAF. It was something like 9 or 10am and there were old diggers being transported through the march in taxis. A lot of them had opened cans of beer they were drinking. Jolly good show I thought. And us Australians may, as a general rule, hate the French, but we all applauded one of the old French veterans who was taking part in the march. I thought that was rather nice.

*Some of the Frenchies love us. Hug*
Fromells I think it is, they have flown the Aussie flag every day since the end of the war.

*Yeah, it's called something like that hug*
I think there are another couple little villages like that over in France, too. I like those places. The rest of France can die in a fire, but those places can stay safe.
