I actually own the base game already, and I've put a fair number of hours in; I'm asking because I have only beaten the full game 4 times, all with Cain. I already find BoI challenging, so I don't see why I should make it harder on myself just yet.

by full game, i'm assuming you mean the heart. without spoiling it, beat sheol at least once before you install WOTL. my reason is its fucking hard, and the expansion gives you the choice of either going down to sheol, or up to... somewhere else which you can easily find out my point is, i think it would be beneficial to beat the FULL game at least once before you try the expansion. if you've already nailed it 4 times, you're clearly getting the hang of it, and shouldn't take you too long xD
