You know and love them. These are the World 1-1's of game levels. These are the most memorable levels in any game. When you think of a game, this is the level you think off. For me, I choose the Milkman's Mind in Psychonauts. This was one of the levels in the game where there was almost no combat. Just simple adventuring. It was also one of the funniest levels in the game. The fact that a Gman can see you as a hot housewife by holding a rolling pin is astounding.

The last level of painkiller. Nearly every level of that game was a work of art but the last one was just so epic.

Inb4 the Max Payne baby scene.

For me, descending into Rapture for the first time on Bioshock. Or open the doors to City 17 on HL2.

The facility from goldeneye

Aahhh, who doesn't love claustrophobic first-person shooters?

Half life, red faction, etc.

The return to Shadow Moses in MGS4. The flash backs and the music really set the mood, it really pulled at my gamer heartstrings.

Shadow Temple in Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time. The amount of dark and creepy things in that level, and the stuff that you couldn't see without the lense of truth just creeped me out, as well as the amount of pit falls and undead enemys that level came with.

Shepherd's Hill in the first Spyro the Dragon, same with the Artisan's Home World. When I was six, I didn't know about memory cards or saving, so I must've played that level like a million times.
