I get pissed off when people think the only rappers are Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy, etc. But I don't hate any music as long as there's enough originality.

I enjoyed original rap.

The new rap is what i hate. Music with pointless or redundant messages I've heard a thousand times. Lifestyles that are both disgusting and I don't subscribe to nor never would want to. Generally, the road that modern rap has taken is not one I would ever be on.

It's the same reason people stereotype other people. It saves time.

I don't like rap, techno, or anything like that. I have a preconceived notion that these types of music are not going to appeal to me. 99 times out of 100, I'm right. The 1/100 time? It's tolerable, but not something I'd actively listen to, given the choice.

But hey, if the music I listen to doesn't appeal to you, more power to you. That's the great thing about freedom of choice.

I insta-Hate rap.

It is the only genre that I do it for tho. Even though I do not generally like country or pop, I can listen to them and give them a chance because some of it is good.

I just don't like its style. Any of its styles: because I know it can vary.

It sounds bad to me, period.

I don't instantly hate rap.
I just hate rap when it's about... And I'm going to hate myself for quoting Yahtzee, but...

Ahem. I just hate rap when it's about whores, guns, and whores getting shot by guns.

Well I wouldn't call it instant hate, alot of people here either enjoy rap or have invalid arguments against it.

Personally I'm a bit indifferent about it, I haven't listened to much of it but I don't enjoy the culture that surrounds it (i.e guys who are basically just very tanned going on about the "Ghetto gospel" and acting like they're king shit and treating you like some kind of "cracker", no really, that's how it is at my school).
Fix'd.

I say this is jest however, but most of the anti Hip Hop arguments I've read can be voided by simply not listening to MTV or the radio.

Listen to all the songs that D Bones posted. If you still dislike Hip Hop after that then there is nothing more that can be done.

You Evil SumBitch! Now I have to go dig Persona 3 out again...

As far as rap, I generally dislike it, not my cuppatea and all that shit. More to the point, I hate whatever gets played on the radio, especially when it's played at 8 million decibels and rattles the frame of my car, but that qualifies for anything.

You know there is still good rap out there right? Just stop looking for rap on the Radio and MTV, hell, NEVER look for music on the Radio or MTV, regardless of what genre.

And this, Lil Wayne and Solja Boy is a earsoar on us too, same way Linkin Park and Three Days Grace is a earsoar to most people who listen to metal.

As for the topic, I don't hate a entire genre (anyone who does that is beyond me), I dislike certain artists, and even with that I just go "Eh, not my thing" and go about my day.

If it ain't broke don't fix it, no genre or indeed medium is perfect and everyone's entitled to their own opinion, you can't instantly assume that all criticisms are people speaking out of their ass.

And is this D Bones fellow some kind of local, or indeed, very under the radar rap artist? I couldn't find him anywhere.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but when someone's opinion is based off such false beliefs ("Hip Hop is all about guns, bitches and bling") I feel the need to intervene and educate them. If the persons reasoning for disliking Hip Hop is based of a more solid reason then there isn't much I can do, however the people who have listened to good Hip Hop and still don't like it are in the minority.

Whoops. I meant to say Jasper Jeff, he posted a big list of amazing Hip Hop songs a few posts up.. D Bones is the person who quoted him and I read wrong.

Emo, Screamo, anything with core in the end just within a few seconds I hate it and it's off. Can't stand that crap.

... What's an Evil SumBitch?
It's the hillbilly way of saying evil son of a *****, I'm not sure why I capitalized it though. It's been a damn long time since I stopped playing it, and I don't have it with me when I actually want to play it.

Same goes for metal. Often seems like someone trying to make as much noise as possible while they attempt to consume a microphone. Might be something that suits my taste come along someday, but I can't be bothered to dig through the microphone munchers to find it.
Whut? You want clear vocals, steer clear of Death, Black and Numetal(You shouldn't listen to numetal anyway)and anything that ends in core. In every other genre clear vocals outnumber gurgley ones.

I always wonder if people who say metals all grindy music and incoherent vocals have actually listened to more than a few songs before writing off all of it as bad.

I consider myself to have a very broad interest in all genres of music, but I must admit, even I will listen to a song and make a judgement. Why? I haven't even listened to a quarter of it? I've been forcing myself to stomach the song 1-3 times and if my opinion remains the same then I give up trying to listen to it.

I just don't like slow breaks and hip-hop is loaded with them so I don't listen to it.
It's like with food, sometimes you can smell something and know you won't like it without having to take a bite.

And thus, why I do not sell games I like.

I still have to beat P3P. But after P4 handed me my ass for the fifteenth time on a random fucking encounter, I'm not sure I want to see what the Nyx can do to me...

Okay, this is my problem with people who defend things like Rap.

They say: "Yeah, there's still good rap out there,".

The problem is that, out of 100 rappers, maybe 5 are actually decent and aren't just different versions of Little Wayne.

Just because they suck doesn't mean they're not part of the genre. They bog the genre down.

Oh, I didn't sell it, I just don't have it with me. What is P3P, the PSP version?

Yep. Easier to say that than to say Per(1)so(2)na(3) Three(4) Por(5)ta(6)ble(7), so I just use P3P.
