It's a good thing we have such well developed computers otherwise we'd be missing out on things as beautiful as The Wilderness Downtown [http://www.thewildernessdowntown.com/].

It is heavy on the processor, it warns you of this but I figure this'll give you even more of a warning

I'll let you all discover what it is, all you need to do is put in the address of your childhood home and watch the outcome of the video. Once you've done that, share your views of it.

For those that of you that haven't done it but plan to, don't scroll down, there will be spoilers.

=My views]...are pretty much summed up here, it's creative and just generally wonderful, the guy clearly has imagination, even though it's quite a simple concept.

Note: If this is old news, then you have my apologies, search turned up nothing.

EDIT: Added a warning message.

EDIT: Sweet. I expected something completely different. It was ok. A good 5 minutes spent.

Doesn't work well with small towns. It only used a total of 2 pictures for me, so it was pretty empty. Cool animation though.

Edit: Rawr I am the devil!!

It is heavy on the processor like, I'm usually reluctant to close all my windows but I made a special exception for this for some reason.

Yeah, it does depend on how popular your neighbourhood is with Google, cities should be better. I wouldn't know though I live in a small town too.

Sounds like a clever way to get my Dox.

All this did was open a shitload of windows and then crash my computer.

It does warn you that it's heavy on the processor. Sorry I caused you trouble though, you didn't lose anything important did you?

Tried running it through Firefox and it alllll went Pete Tong. I might give it a go again if I install Chrome.

I had the same problem, except my computer didn't crash. Came close though.

It did the same with me, but Google maps doesn't have my street on street view listed as my street.

Yeah, I finally figured that out, I had to choose the street the road was named after.

Interesting. I'm all about the experimentation with the internet and its various mediums of communication.
