Scattered throughout some cities and along the transit system, you'll find Freewares. These can be used to improve your abilities, though some of them are more useful then others, and there is a chance any given freeware is really a virus in disguise.

You can also find Browsers, a subset of Freewares. These, you switch between at will.

For some reason thinking of your description of the internet makes me think many people will be like wastelanders from the fallout series or the interlanders as I like to think of them. They would be rugged explorers exploring depths of the internet unknown.

Lol, funny that you should bring this comic into it, this picture is actually the wallpaper on my laptop . But no not so much like that. Really looking at the picture did bring up something I had forgotten about though.

Bodies of water!

There would obviously be bodies of water on the internet right? So what would those be? I like the idea of the "Gulf of Youtube" where brave adventurers go to see the fabled Shane Dawson, or the hideous "Chris Crocker" is it has been called. XP

The GameFAQs thing as a puzzle game I think would be awesome! It could be the puzzle you have to solve before getting into the last *insert something here*.

Okay, the freewares idea is cool, but here's some other stuff.

Sprites - Weapons, clothing, and armor for your character. Can be found at places like shops such as The Spriters Resource, or custom made for you by spriters.

Transportation between certain sites. For Instance, I would bring players to The Middle Ground, the Nintendo Independant Wiki Alliance, or The Escapist, from one of those sites, and such.

Now, should we make this game, what should we make it in? I suggest RPG Maker. I know someone who can help us make it.

Hahaha, beautiful man beautiful. I would like to get away from the "post apocalyptic" idea though. While it's true that much of the internet would be very disgusting and wasteland-ish. There should also be areas where the desolation is kept at bay. I don't really know what these places would be called... Any ideas? Places that are more of an oasis then anything else.
