For those of you who got to see it today, what did you think? Was it worth all the hype, the controversy, the strange circumstances of its release?

I just finished watching it, and my opinion is that it was totally worth seeing. :D It was actually a great movie, funny in all of the right ways. It was a smart comedy playing itself off as dumb. Though it's very topical, it's the type of movie that can stand the test of time as a generalization of all types of dictatorial regimes.

I'd easily recommend this movie to anyone.

Oh yes... And merry Christmas to you all!

The complete opposite of smart comedy in my opinion... very forgettable. Lots of crude forced Seth Rogan humor. I don't see how a movie whose entire script is about crude sexual humor is a smart comedy, but to each their own.

The tiger scene was the most predictable of them all, honestly I thought the tiger was going to mount him but was pleasantly surprised when it didn't, but of course something had to go in his ass. Maybe Seth Rogan's style of comedy isn't my piece of cake.

I thought that it was a quite forgettable film to be honest. It has been a couple of days since I watched it, and I don't think that there is a single joke or skit that I remember other than that Seth Rogan had to put a thing up his ass; not exactly the best bit of information to remember the film by. James Franco and Randall Park stole the show for me though. But regardless, it definitely was not worth all of the controversy and the terrorism threats.

It made me laugh, and I quite enjoyed it, but as others have said it was quite forgettable, with the only part I'm probably going to remember being the tank scene. I wasn't really expecting much anyway, it was just half of my plan for Christmas this year, after the Chinese buffet.

Meh.

I liked it a bit more than I thought I would, but that's not saying much.

It was incredibly dumb, but I still had a bit of a chuckle. Although by the time the climax came around the dumb had utterly outweighed the funny.

After all the hacking hoohah it's a bit disappointing to find such a forgettable movies at the centre of it all.

It certainly caused a lot of trouble for how little impact it had overall.

I thought the chemistry between Randall Park (Kim Jong Un) and Franco (irritable tv show host) was very strong. But in the end, its a Seth Rogen movie and that started to become tiresome since 2008.

Also, the CIA agent lady is VERY under-utilized. That was too bad.

Couple of amusing moments, pretty much forgettable though. Certainly not a smart comedy; like all Rogen films, its got a wafer-thin "meaning" thinly resting underneath a bunch of gay gags, dick jokes, and shitty acting from Seth. I say acting, but the man is just himself in every single film.

Safe to say we, the audience, were honeypotted on this one.

Is it any better than Sacha Baron Cohen's The Dictator? I'm asking because I've seen that film (which I liked; better than Bruno, but not as good as Borat), but not The Interview (which, from my first impressions, looks pretty stupid).

Not to sound exactly like Zhukov, but: Meh.

They touched very briefly on more interesting subjects ("Are talk&slander shows a kind of propaganda?") but other than that it was a simple loldictatorssuck-routine with the typical Seth Rogen humor, the kind that takes a joke and runs it into the ground for 5 straight minutes ("yes, putting stuff in your butt is uncomfortable, we know").

Cohen's movie is smarter (in a head-on kind of way) and funnier, but that's just my uncorroborated opinion.

I laughed at a lot of bits but it wasn't as smart as I was hoping it to be. Seth Rogen in his last comedy, Neighbors, was absolutely brilliant. The Interview didn't really have any hard biting commentary like Neighbors did. I like how they interpreted Kim Jong-un with Daddy issues and he was actually really insecure and he was getting by on money...

I 'unno. As much as I know that no one can really make movies like Tarantino, I was still kind of hoping for something more like Inglourious Basterds, which was a deep reflection on...well, everything about WWII. There wasn't much of anything in The Interview that would make you think. It was just a fun, dopey comedy.

But that's okay, it was fun enough for me.

Hell, I enjoyed it. Dunno why there's so many people on a high horse panning the film for being dumb and crude. It stars Seth Rogen and James Franco, what else could you have expected?
