What items do you see in games that, once seen, you put everything else aside and devote all time and resources to obtain?

For me it would have to be heart pieces in Zelda games. Also, I can't play shooters without searching every little corner of the map for ammo.

weapon upgrade stations and little sisters in both bioshocks.
Pretty much anything that is hidden and helps improve my character is something I can't stand to go without.

In general, looting dead enemies in RPG games takes a very high priority with me, or just finding loot in general. In Fallout 3 or Borderlands I'll meticulously sweep every area for loot after every firefight.

Abilities. Even if I'll never use them, I collect every ability a game has to offer. Thanks, FFVII and your Enemy Skill materia.

That reminded me of this one time when I had only been outside the vault for about an hour, hadn't gone to Megaton yet and got in a fight with some Raiders. I ran out of ammo and killed most of them with nothing but a weak knife and baseball bat. I was so relieved when I won that I had to spend 5-10 minutes chopping all of their bodies up with the weak knife. They deserved it.

That reminds me of that time I went into someones house, stole their jet, got addicted to it, and stabbed them to death with their own knife. :3

Hmm, let's see.
IRL: I have this lovely decommissioned red gas pipe that I cannot live without.
In Fallout 3: I love searching for those ammunition crates.
In anything else: If there's a treasure chest, it's already looted.

Other characters

If there is a way of getting a side-characte to join you for a while, I must do it or die...only options.

In Final Fantasy IX I tried to take every good item from every boss even though stealing in that game takes like hours.
