This is no joke. I am part of the fan community of The Land Before Time Movies, and we have been watching this sort of information VERY carefully. (Mainly because of how many trolls have posted lies about it.) However, the interview of the following site pretty much seals it. (Check the UStream video.)

http://actorsentertainment.com/actorse/actor-felix-avitia-guests-on-actorse-chat-with-actress-host-christie-philips/

Here's what we of the fan community know.

- The Land Before Time XIV has a title: Journey of the Heart.
- Bron (Littlefoot's Dad that was introduced in the 10th movie.) is going to be making a return to the series, and the plot seems to be centred more around him and Littlefoot again.
- The plot sounds a bit more mature compared to the last few sequels.
- Singing will definitely be included.
- It will be, like the others, direct-to-video.

Needless to say, we of The Land Before Time Fan Community are pretty excited. :)

Hm. Since I don't want to rain on anybody's parade, I'll just say that... um... I'm happy for your sake, but probably won't be watching this movie.

Honest to god they ran this franchise into the ground. The first film is legitimately good (back when Don Bluth didn't put Dom DeLuise in everything), but I never felt much for any of the sequels. And Ducky's voice actress was murdered by her dad.

There's a fourteen? Who actually owns the rights to these movies? Didn't Don Bluth's company go under? Or did he retire?

I actually watched the first one recently with my younger siblings. I think I liked it more then they did, actually. Nostalgia, I suppose. Too old for them, meybe. Now I feel old.

Wait his dad? Wtf where was that lazy bum when Littlefoot's mom died? Anyways I think the last one I saw as a kid was 7, I might just marathon them all when 14 comes out for nostalgia's sake

I hear the fifteenth movie will be a crossover with Night at the Museum.

14!!?? I thought there were only like seven?

Also you link seems broken, it just goes to some article about a child actor.

...Fan-freakin-tastic, I thought the series' revelence died years ago... I don't have any faith in this movie being good... Though over the years, I've adopted the "there was only one movie" way of thinking.

Out of curiosity, how active is the fan-community for these movies?

I liked the first one, and had some fondness for the later ones as a kid...

14? Isn't it time for a gritty reboot yey?
How does one make a gritty reboot for a series whose first installment was helmed by a man whose storytelling philosophy is often expressed as 'kids can handle anything so long as there is a happy ending'?

I must have been 3 or something when I saw the first one, I quite enjoyed it as a child though.

Probably a bit too old to be watching it now though ha ha

Ok that make me giggle!

OT- Wait, there are fourteen???

I know there were three or five (I watched the second and third and I know that baby T-rex talked in another sequel and more kid dino showed up cos at worked, there is a TLBT Jigsaw puzzle) but fourteen??? There goes the sad and sappy Littlefoot mum dying scene as it get buried by all the happy singings and whatnots!

I was sure that the title for the next movie would be The Land Before Time: Journey To Your SUV's Gas Tank.

But, really. Fourteen movies? Yeah, long-runner, definitely. Fans ought to be happy, at least, and good on 'em.

I'M GLAD YOU ASKED-- *shot* Apparently when she was pregnant he decided to search for a suitable place to raise Littlefoot but by the time he did, he returned and found that the land shifted and he heard (through the grapevine or Rooter, I guess) that Littlefoot had been born and mom was killed so he... wandered around for a bit and raised some abandoned kids, I think?

....You asked. -shrug- I watched all the movies one after another in a marathon one day to see what my favourite voice actors would do for a paycheck. They weren't very good despite liking... ehh, the first five in my childhood. Nothing beats the first one by a long shot, though.

OT: ....Yaaaaaaaay. I thought they were done after that terrible show and the thirteenth one with Cuba Gooding Jr. playing one of the most annoying characters I've ever seen in a movie ever.

MAYBE this one won't be so bad since they've taken like a four year hiatus. Or something. But the real question remains: Is Kiefer Sutherland coming back to voice Bron or does he know better by now?

Why does somebody feel the need to bring this up every time The Land Before Time franchise is mentioned?

Aren't the sequels generally disliked by the LBT community?

Oh well, um, yay? Saw the first film and its first three sequels as a kid, so, um, there's that I guess. First movie is the best of the bunch IMO, but I'm guessing that's par for the course.

There are plenty who dont like any of the sequels, but you cant build much of a community around that
"Hey, remember that one single movie 20 years ago?"
"Yeah, that was really good wasnt it"
"Yep"

As for me, I think the first few sequels are pretty alright with some nice moments for what they are, nothing compared to the original but perfectly watchable. Havent seen any of the recent ones though
