Yep! A new movie of The Land Before Time franchise is coming out.

Now, before you say "Oh! Not another one!" or something to that effect, understand that the last one was released in 2007. It's been 8 years, so there's no need for it!

So yes, a new one is coming out after 8 years. We of The Land Before Time community have been following this one since we stumbled upon information on it last year. As such, we have gathered as much as we can from it and below is where you can find all we know about it.

Um... Since i don't want to rain on anybody's parade i think I'll just say that the song in the trailer seems pretty catchy and leave it at that.

Considering how bad the majority of Land Before Time sequels were (and that last movie was just atrocious), I'm seriously hoping this doesn't turn out badly. (Crosses fingers)

I couldn't watch past "your favorite dinosaurs are starring in an all new movie!" oh god the cringe! I didn't even realize they were still making these! I remember when I was pretty young (8?) I thought that the amount of sequels was crazy and that the newer ones were just awful.

Add me to the list of old farts... and I refused to watch any sequels because even as a kid I knew that one movie was enough for animated flicks and I was pretty much right, mainly because of Fievel Goes West... Especially straight-to-video stuff like Disney did for their smash hit movies they for some ungodly reason (money) decided a sequel was needed.

Anyway, I didn't realize there were 12 sequels though. I stopped caring after the 3rd or 4th one. At least they didn't try to make a sequel to FernGully... please tell me they didn't I don't want to google it and be disappointed.

They made a sequel to Ferngully. And it's incredibly disappointing.

OT: I stopped watching at 8 (8! 8!!!!). The quality just kept going down and down... or I was just getting too old for it.

That hasn't changed, I'll probably skip the new one.

Just because it has been years since the last one DOES NOT mean it is warrant to have another one! I mean just look at the reboot like Robocop and Terminator!

So yeah, Oh! Not another one!

Fourteen movies? Say what?!! I knew of five or six when I was young, after that I lost interest. None of the sequels ever managed to recreate the magic of the original, which is still a work of genius among kids movies.
And fuck Bambi's mom, you ain't seen nothing yet in terms of sadness if you haven't seen this LBT1.

Anyway, what's with all these blasts from the past? Stop making me feel ancient, internet. If this keeps up I'll have to put burning paper bags full of dog poop on people's doormats just to counteract this effect.

Ducky says 'Yep Yep Yep!'

Although Watson is a bit dubious as he never saw any past 4/5 as a kid, and that was only because his little sister liked them... They don't really have the same cross age-gap appeal as other franchises now, do they?

Okay, I've heard that before, and I wanna ask you (and anybody else who can answer)... Why? I haven't seen it myself, and all I know is that it's got the usual staples of the sequels... That is, okay songs and some new tradition that we're supposed to accept was always a thing (in this case, the Wisdoms).

What makes this one especially bad?

EDIT: While I might diss the songs, I'll defend "The Lone Dinosaur" to my last breath.

Holy crap! Me too! Watched and rewatched the first 8 multiple times on VHS (except the 7th which was just too boring), but I guess having a winter "episode" was too much in the end. My headcanon says they all died to the cold. The fact that there's a Land Before Time -community just makes me want to burn things, so I'm giving this a five nope-nope-nopes out of five without watching.

I don't really care. They were great movies when I was a kid, but it's hard to keep caring for this stuff later in life. Ducky's always been my favorite character. But I only found out what happened to the original voice actress a few years ago. I wish I never knew. If you don't know don't even bother looking it up. You can guess, but there's no reason to know the details. Despite of how long ago that was I was instantly filled with sadness and anger.

I'm not old enough to have seen these in the theater though. I'm 26. But I watched them as a kid, like most of the popular shows from the 80's and 90's.

Pft, they should have feathers!

Actually, if all the dinosaurs suddenly grew feathers for some reason, that'd be pretty cool.

It's not an age thing. All of the sequels were straight-to-video.
