Eh, anyone I actually encountered with the show have actually become bigger fans than me so I might watch it if any of them do.

My hopes have plunged to an all-time low. I was really looking forward to seeing it this weekend too......

.....FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
sry :( dont wanna break the bad news to ya...
but we can all look to one person to blame...M.Night bhambadambadinglaoonga.

the fact he directed, wrote and whatever else with it, and the people he hired and such...we can safely say the movie is bad because of him.
Yeah, though it doesn't make me any less angry. When I saw the previews for it in theaters a couple weeks ago, my friend and I were going back and forth wondering what sort of twist he'd work into the story. Low and behold it sucks for bad acting. What a twist!

Ouch. That's gotta hurt.

I wasn't planning on seeing the movie, but I did enjoy what I watched of the show (I eventually stopped watching it for no real reason). It's sad, Avatar: The Last Airbender deserved better than that.

I'm actually a fan of M. Night Longlastname, and I was surprised to see he was doing this. I've had mixed feelings for it as I think he does his best work when he has his own material. It sounded like a really choice for someone to bring a cartoon to life, though. Thats too bad that it seems to be terrible. I'll still probably end up watching it though. I mean, how many times does Air actually get used in combat for anything other then wussy protection in games and movies. It's about time someone made a strong air character.

I am not friends with the guy who suggested us go watch Eragon and then never showed up and didn't tell us until we had bought ticketsso we sat through it.

I'm saddened but I'll still rent it.

The movie might have been okay if they stayed true to the characters and their traits in the Animated Series, but it's pretty obvious that they're going for a different angle. Instead of Aang still being a normally goofy kid early on, he's being portrayed as this ultra-determined Wuxia Badass.
I'm of the persuasion that Shyamallan and his partners are just making a shameless cash-in of the series now that the series is over. Feel free to disagree, but I'm not going to go see it, at any rate. I liked the series as it was. Live Action Adaptations tend to ruin everything.

Hahahahaha the Eragon movie was shit. But I was hoping this would be really good, as I was a fan of the series. Looks like my hope was misplaced.

Sadly I'm still going to go watch it. Maybe having been a fan of the show I can inject my own vision into the picture and see it as more than it really is. Probably not though.

ZOMG is that Putt Putt

OT: The cartoon/anime/whatever it was, is really good but sometimes things just don't work on the big screen.

See, FANS, this is YOUR handiwork. You made the series so popular that it was made into a movie. Want to make sure it never happens again?

DON'T ***** ABOUT MORE MATERIAL IF IT ONLY MEANS MAKING MORE MONEY FOR THE PUBLISHERS!
Worked for Firefly =)

See, this is exactly why I was leery of Last Airbender. I was questioning if Shyamalan could pull it off, and it looks like he couldn't cut it. I was wondering how they were going to compress a 20-episode season of a cartoon series into a 2-hour (2.5-hour, being generous) movie, and it looks like they failed.

Look, I know it was a cartoon, but I loved Avatar: The Last Airbender and I hate the thought of anything Airbender-related sucking. Same thing applies to Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League (and Justice League Unlimited) and Samurai Jack, among other things, but I can't say I didn't see this coming, and I also can't say I wanted this to suck. I really did want this to be good, but unfortuntaely, it looks like such is not the case.

Is the title supposed to imply you expected Eragon to be a good movie? If so, you deserve to be disappointed.

You're the first person I've ever heard say Avatar: The Last Airbender was bad, go troll someplace else, you're not welcome here.

I think I'll see it for myself anyway. Esp. since movie critics all like to march in step behind Roger Ebert, ie a miserable old fuck who wouldn't know a good movie if it bit him in his wrinkled old ass.
