Usually live action movies from anything animated=Extremely bad idea, and I sincerely think that this will be no exception. If they make Appa look amazing it might rise slightly higher then trash on the awesomeness scale, if they don't even have Appa in the movie, it will be far worse then trash.

The cartoon was pretty good. The movie, I don't hold any hopes for. I can pretty much see it ending up like the Dragon Ball movie, a complete laughing stock.

I don't know, the main character is the right age and does actually appear to be the last Airbender, so it's already more faithful to its source material than the Dragonball movie.

I haven't seen this cartoon people are talking about so I naturally thought that it looked awesome Nah but it had some beautiful visual scenes and a little kid kicking grown up ass? Hey I loved home alone so count me in. And it's set in some kind of Asian country? Big fan of the Orient right here Semi buddhist aswell baby. Nah I'll check out some more trailers. Hopefully it won't be like that piece of shit Dragonball. Sorry all fans, must suck to have your material destroyed

If nothing else, you should at least check out the cartoon (full name is Avatar: The Last Airbender). It's a bit childish at times, but it's truly amazing. If you like Buddhism, by the way, the Airbenders (of which, if you couldn't guess, the main character is the last) were based on Buddhists, the other three nations were based on other Asian cultures. all of his movies, after the Sixth Sense have been crap. I'm half expecting there to be some elaborate twist at the end revealing that the whole movie has taken place in a snowglobe or something.

A lot of this film will depend on the kids they've got playing the leads. If they're bad, the film will be crap no matter what. This is definitely one of those films where I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

The trailer was rater uninspiring, like a generic action movie. It did sell me looks dull, and Ang look super serious all the time.

If this movie is good; the results could be epic. The show is surprisingly awesome.

But if they fuck it up--it will be terrible.
