Mort by Terry Pratchett

I love Discworld, especially The Death thereof who is so very interested in humanity. After hearing of apprentices, he gets one, Mort. Who screws things up in a big way. I'd recommend it!

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.

Recommended by my girlfriend and the woman who wrote Twilight, it's better than Twilight films but not as good as Twilight books.

If it turns out not to be your thing, at least it's short.
I'm sorry, don't even COMPARE Twilight to Hunger Games.

Twilight is a cliched, badly written piece of dog shit that I'd be embarassed to use as a coaster for my brinks.

The Hunger Games is an insightful look into human behavior, and the corruptness of the government. The concept is similar to The Lord of the Flies, certainly, but the topics it tackles are entirely different from Flies.

Honestly, man. Get some taste, please.
Surely you just compared Twilight to Hunger Games, just less favourably than I did?

I just found the Twilight series to be more fun in general, and the way conversation is handled (for the most part) seems a lot more natural than Hunger Games. To be honest, when I read outside of work I tend to prefer things that are fluffier and less pointy and controversial, what with working in the mental health industry...
WHAT conversation? Twilight covers zero important topics. The whole series can be boiled down to "0MGGG, EDWORD IZZ SO H/-\WT!!"

But I can respect that you like lighter, fluffier works because of your job. I have a freind with brain cancer, and it's not exactly happy-time-bon-bons, if you know what I mean.

Sorry if I seemed a tad too angry in my last post. Being appreciative of high literature, I'd rather a sauted dog penis (with a little ketchup on the side) than read Twilight again.

Winner take nothing, by Hemingway.

...It's not like a review is necessary. It's Hemingway. Of course it was good. Great. Fantastic.

Re-read Scott Pilgrim volume 3: Scott Pilgrim & the Infinite Sadness.

I think it's a good third volume. I liked the fact that now the exes take a while book to defeat and not just a few pages. I also liked the fact that it had flashbacks about the pass butnot revealing too much.

Transmetropolitan. Technically a graphic novel, but it would be selling it short not to call it literature.

If someone were to pick up a random volume and flip through it, it would come across as crass and tasteless. However, as a whole, it is an absolutely brilliant piece of satire that changed the way I look at consumerism and politics.

It's also funny as all hell. Read it.

Wuthering Heights

Fuck this book and everything this book had to say. May have been edgey 200 years ago, but is pretty tame to todays standards and 95% of the book is a gaint flashback.

John Dies At The End.

A book that is surprisingly both funny and scary in equal measure.

Read it for the twist ending!

A pretty good book all in all, but I don't think it is as good as Mort. The side story feels more like the main and there are a few too many characters.

I just, as in minutes ago, finished Mogworld.

What a read! Though it doesn't take the top spot for funniest book I have ever read, it's solidly in second place. Slippery John will go down in my books as the funniest fictional character I have ever had the pleasure of reading.

Now to continue where I left off in The Seven Days of Peter Crumb...

i think it as 1984 by George Orwell

Quite boring really. Everything that happens is predictable and there is nothing to keep your attention. The writing is quite good though.

Coming up for air by George Orwell. Great book looking at the changes in british society between the wars, and has an ending that is quite funny
