Altered Carbon (book) meets TrollHunter (film) and Terraria (game). You are a cybernetic troll hunter with a cortical stack, ie if you die you will get cloned a new body. Or rather, you respawn at your spawn point, just like in Terraria. You hunt for trolls in dark forests, even underground caverns. You can dig through rock, collect resources to manufacture new goods (such as troll stench to maks your presence) and build fortifications to aid you in your fight against the trolls. You are armed with burst strobe UV lamps and explosives.
You are hired by a wealthy and powerful figure who has asked you to investigate his own recent disappearance (followed by a respawn). The police tells he was slain by a troll. But the truth turns out to be a complicated and ugly knot of government level corruption and byzantine power game between wealthy and powerful individuals.
