Dark Souls. I just finished playing it, like 10 minutes ago.

In case you're wondering, I died.

I noticed a desktop icon of Fallout New Vegas. I clicked it and began playing it. I had no idea why I stopped earlier. I clocked three hours in that session. Then I closed my computer and remembered why I've stopped playing it.
It crashed.

Never played Skyrim, actually. Just playing more Dredmor, as usual.

It's an amazing game, and dirt cheap. If you don't own it yet, you should.

If Diablo 2 counts as an RPG, it does have quite a bit of room for character customization, but considering that there's pretty much nothing but "kill everything" outside the town walls, then I'd say Ultima III. Mostly because I've been ripping up the audio to share with everyone on YouTube because the Commodore-64's SID chip can give out some serious cases of rose-colored glasses.

Secret of Mana. I'm going to make sure I play fully through it this time around and level up weapons as I go along rather than let them gather dust and have to grind.

Fallout 3.
My favourite game ever, for obvious reasons, and it's ruining my life. 80 hours whittled away... BUT I MUST STOP THE ENCLAVE!

Oblivion hah, I replayed it's story in preparation for Skyrim. If that's "cheating" because its from the same series that last non-Elders Scrolls RPG I played was Final Fantasy X, I did a guest battle on my friends file.

Well I have two answers here, the contriversial answer and the not-quite-true answer.

The last (game which I consider to be a) RPG I played was Skyward Sword. The last indisputable RPG I played was Pokemon Red. Skyward Sword gave me side-quests and presented them as other RPGs would have. Also, I've considered Zelda an RPG since Link to the Past since you level up your HP (heart points) and there was something of a story to the whole map-trotting adventure. Pokemon is Pokemon though and Red was one of the first ones many of us ever played.

Shining Force. It was on the Sega Mega Drive I think, I got it on steam and I'm finding it really enjoyable.

I've been replaying the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic games these past few weeks, in preparation for getting The Old Republic. It's made me realize just how much I miss those games, and how damn good they were. Also, despite the fact that II: The Sith Lords has way too much cut content, I still find myself enjoying it immensely. I guess that's just testament to how well they're made and how awesome Star Wars is on the whole.

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. If that doesn't count due to being a turn-based strategy game, then Dragon Age II was my last RPG of the year.
