"The development of the fourth game in the Assassin?s Creed series has been confirmed, and it has quite the army supporting it.

Titled Assassin?s Creed Revelations, the 2011 game is once again led by Ubisoft Montreal, but with five additional Ubisoft studios assisting: Annecy, Massive Entertainment, Quebec, Singapore and Bucharest. Massive is the new addition, the rest were involved in Brotherhood as well.

The entire series has sold more than 28 million units worldwide to date, today?s announcement also says; plenty of reasons for another one then.

Assassin?s Creed Revelations is seen as the final chapter in protagonist Ezio trilogy and will gallop players to Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, where those pesky Templars are up to no good again.

The multiplayer component introduced in last year?s game will return, ?refined and expanded,? with added maps, modes and characters up for grabs.

In addition, according to Ubi Montreal?s creative director Alexandre Amancio, players can expect ?lots of new features and some significant surprises.? But those are being held back for now.

The game will be out in November for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Should history repeat itself though, expect the PC version to slip into 2012."

Personally I think the use of Ezio as the protagonist should of ended in Brotherhood. I wanted a new protagonist and a new timeline, though this will only happen in Asssassin's Creed 3, yet at the same time it's sad to see my favourite Assassin have his final murderous romp.

So, fellow escapists, what are your thoughts on the upcoming Assassin?s Creed Revelations?

No more Ezio, but some more Altair.
So I'm happy, Altair's way cooler, even if he can't swim and had less personality.

Thank God. I like Ezio, but it's time to move the plot along. Or go to a different time period. Either one.

I think that's a bad idea. The whole thing in 2 was finding Altair's journal and learning what he knew. Now they are treading dangerous paths by trying to put his story together after the parts that are meant to come later, I'm not sure they'll make the story better.

I can't wait, I've loved the Assasins Creed series since the first game. Looking forward to a demo, fingers crossed.

They are indeed treading a dangerous path with this installment.
They could end up ruining the story by filling it with arbitrary tieing up of loose-ends or creating more loose-ends or it could result in the convolution of the entire story beyond the point of recognition.

There's so much that can go wrong and very little that can go right.

Gonna have to ask for a new protagonist, Ubisoft.

Despite Ezio being a pretty cool dude, I need some variety.

While I am glad to see more of Altair, it would have been nice to get three out, a new character and time is called for. Although I hope that they will show Ezios' death, as it will be nice to go through his entire life time from start to finish. Although how they will show his death might be complicated as he has to pass on his genetic memory to a son before he dies, maybe play the lasts mission as Ezio Junior?
Hopefully all these side games and distractions will create a massive budget for AC3, with an awesome series ending.

That would be a nice touch in my opinion.
Almost poetic in a way...

Ezio was awesome I'm glad we're all in agreement their but it is time to move on to a new protagonist. I agree with the comments about the story. Hopefully they won't cock it up. Yay multiplayer! I was a fan of Brotherhood's multiplayer and am looking forward to how they "refine and expand" it.

I liked Altair, I don't know why so many people didn't. Ezio was also pretty damn awesome, but I don't see why they're bringing him back for a third game. A new time period, a new protagonist. These are the things we should be asking for for the next AC game.

That said, I'll probably still buy it. I just can't get enough Assassin's Creed!

Ezio's rules, since I loved the Italian deal, whereas Altair....I can't even remember most of the first game apart from that bit in a hospital, for some reason and that annoying blahing everyone does as if stabbing someone in the throat suddenly causes all their knowledge to download into your head (Right of the caste, I claim your powas!).

Moar italy!

I think both Altair and Ezio were fantastic, however, I think they've both had their moment in the sun. Bring out a new assassin and could we please move away from the Mediteranean coast? I liked the direction of that Assassins Creed comic set in Russia; what about French Revolution France? Industrial Revolution England? War of Independence America? There is so much potential for this series and we are already stagnating in one general area and time period. Come on.

Not much else for Desmond to learn in terms of ability from Ezio. So I can only see this going towards new locations for AC3.

I like Ezio but one game was enough, AC2 told his story and Brotherhood kinda just felt like filler, it's time to either give us someone new or bite the bullet and give us Desmond.

Altair is one of the blandest characters ever made. Ezio on the other hand is excellent, it's a good time to send him off now in Revelations but I feel like Brotherhood (despite being a good game) was sort of a filler.

*grumbles about playing as stupid boring Altair for parts of Revelations*

Really? A third one with Ezio? I'm really quite bored of him already. One game was enough, two was pushing it, but three is definitely too many. A new character and a new era is a must. I can't shake the feeling that Ubisoft wants CoD-ify Assassin's Creed...

Yeah, I think I'm going to sit this one out. Let me know when 3 comes along.
