WoW is the Juggernaut. The reason Blizzard nor anyone else can build a WoW killer is because Chris Metzen holds the Gem Of Cyttorak. And never ever try to explain the Gem of Cyttorak.
It can't die, and this is not the last expansion by a longshot. There is the full might of the Burning Legion, Sargeras' ilk. The only time they've faced the demons was in small doses... held back by crazy ass blood elves who are just constantly set back and a nightmare ridden demon/night elf psychopath...
Wait wait... since this is altering history in a freaky way, then Ner'Zhul never becomes the Lich King so Arthas... I've got a headache, Doc we gotta hit 88 miles per hour so we can fix this!

Not to mention the Emerald Dream/Nightmare... that is still in effect. And Medivh, that fucker has got to show up again sometime.

Wrathion will definitely have a role to play in this xpac, maybe even as a raid boss, but I imagine the big bad is coming from the Burning Legion. They're pissed the orcs turned their back on them.

Wrathion as a final boss? BOOORRRING.

come on people, lets get more creative. I say New lich King goes back in time with the rest of the Horde and Alliance and possesses old Nerzul, becoming The One.

Of course it's not 'just an Orc'. (from what I've seen I always thought that Garrosh's possesion is something like 'Blood of Mannoroth 2.0')
It's a bit different. The Old Gods don't enslave/give power the way the Burning Legion did. They play on your existing fears or prejudices. In Garrosh's case, his fear of outside influences corrupting the Horde, because of what happened with his father. He embraces the power as a way to ensure that, believing all the while he is doing the right thing, as opposed to being duped or making a Faustian bargain.

Also you have to consider that Wrathion is just a whelp when you see him transform. Though he could have been on the Timeless Isle for centuries with Kairozz, tricking foolish heroes into filling the hourglass with epoch stones and plotting Garrosh's escape. But I assume he wouldn't have aged there.

Now I kinda want to see a raid fight where the boss is a tiny whelp that zips around a room big enough to break target locks and you have to chase him around while he triggers traps and releases minions. Glorious confusing chaos!

I don't agree on the first part. Malygos was a much more powerful villain either the Lich King or Deathwing, he just wasn't presented as something we desperately needed to stop.

Mists of Pandaria was largely solid, the issue with it was that they decided to focus on Orcs half way through and I believe that Blizzard should realise that this isn't the mid 90s anymore and Orcs/Humans have gotten stale.

I'm irritated that they've gone with this when at least Pandaria was established and kinda made sense once you got into it. Hell they even hinted at its existence in the Thrall short story to build up to it. Ah well, Blizzard is stagnant and is desperate for the RTS fans to come back to WoW, that's all.

wow for me ended when the crusader arena handed out purples like candy and the t9 gear was practically free, it made 2 of the best raids wotlk had obsolete to the point that t11 hard mode raiders where wiping on larp runs of 4 horsemen, i may have started playing wow during tbc (b4 the bt patch and the exp consolidation patch that made all the raids easier pre 3.0 and b4 isle daily's) i even remember the old lfg that dropped you into a group of people that where on your server only(so being a troll had consequences like blacklisting and headhunting)and you had to still used the summon stone and walked to the dungeon entrance. i felt cheated when i worked very hard to get my raid gear and then the wow equivalent of goty edition aka badge gear rollover made it so people that didn't bother got it anyway and don't get me started on the whole icc 5 mans and zone buff. i played threw cata and was kinda impressed for like a month until the zg/za rework (crusader/icc 5 man 2.0) came out then it was the same kinda boring raiding icc was, then mists came out and i was sooo unimpressed but forked over $70 bucks on my friends word it was still fun, i played for 2 hours on my main b4 i was bored so i made 10 different pandas on a random server 5 alliance and 5 horde and then quit wow and haven't been back on since.

the story for wow for me ended when Arthas died at the end of lich king, the whole tie in to the world of Warcraft was the kind of retro-implied cliffhanger at the end of WC3 frozen throne and it takes wow 3 expansions to finish it, now that blizzard is out of game lore that was already written completely, it goes back to Warcraft 2-3 and pulls deathwing and pandas and calls it good.

this approach kinda left me with a half asses writing interpretation of there game, they should have jump strait into the emerald dream after lich king and let that ride into the titans/old gods showdown or vice verse.

on a side note the math in the game has not really changed post 3.0 so i don't understand the whole number creep for pc and bosses just switch to % of health for yourself and mobs/bosses and its the same ratio of damage as earlier xpacs, kinda makes the game seem more epic then it actually is.
