Easy enough thread, I guess. It was just something that crossed my mind while my newest album purchase was downloading from Bandcamp.

So then, to business. What was the last album you bought? What do you think of it? Was it worth it? How about one or two of your favourite tracks?

For me, I've just bought four albums, pretty much all at once. I've bought:

Face by Dan Bull, an incredible rapper who I discovered through his Epic Skyrim Rap [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j50u0zUeCmU] before finding out he does awesome, serious, political rap as well. I'm also planning on getting his debut Safe through his legal free download and then donate him the cost of the CD (and then some) because he deserves it. Favourite songs are John Lennon [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6nVnlxPoGA], America [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYYuM24vNh8] and A Portrait of the Autist [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yng0V0TCl9s]

and,

Level 1 and Level 2 by our very own Miracle of Sound. I've been wanting to get these for a while now because having to have the laptop on or the iPod on the internet is clunky and battery-draining respectively. Best from Level 1 are Sovngarde Song [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/miracle-of-sound/5117-Sovngarde-Song-Skyrim], The New Black Gold [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/miracle-of-sound/4759-The-New-Black-Gold-Deus-Ex-Human-Revolution], Redemption Blues [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/miracle-of-sound/4634-Redemption-Blues-Red-Dead-Redemption] and Sweet LA [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/miracle-of-sound/3608-Sweet-L-A-A-Song-of-L-A-Noire]. From Level 2, I'd pick Nord Mead [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/miracle-of-sound/5350-Nord-Mead-Skyrim], Crucible [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/miracle-of-sound/5602-Crucible-Mass-Effect-3] or Joker's Song [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/miracle-of-sound/5286-Jokers-Song-Batman-Arkham-City].

and, to finish:

Firefly: The Original Soundtrack. Yeah, don't even pretend that's not an awesome purchase. Now, I can't post the entire album, so I'll leave you with the title theme [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1sjAmHoasc] and let you work through the rest of the album :D

So, your turn then :) Post some awesome music!

One Final Point: This thread is about albums you've bought. Legally. Digital or physical doesn't matter, but please don't go around admitting to piracy. Yes, I'm sure you've done it, but drawing attention to yourself is a surefire way to get mod wrath, and nobody wants that.

The last album I've bought was "Anarchy, My Dear" by Say Anything. Great purchase. It folds pamphlet style.
The case then folds open and on the back of the front "page" is the lyrics booklet, modeled after a worn-out folded peace of paper. The lyrics booklet is in a pocket that is cut into flames. I believe the front of the booklet (once folded) has two matchsticks crossed surrounded by a circle of stars. The the outer part of the "page" that is still folded is the same matchstick emblem. Once that "page" is open the CD is on the right side and in the middle between the CD and the lyrics booklet is a drawing of two guys in lettermen style jackets with the burning white flag emblem (see cover) on the back. Then on the outer middle "page" is the track list.
Actually, go listen to the whole album.
I really wanted to get the album on vinyl but I couldn't.

The last album I bought was the Deus Ex:HR soundtrack, and that was about a week ago.

I've been meaning to buy it but I either keep forgetting or got lazy about it. I got it for $10 I believe off of iTunes, and I love the thing.

This is possibly my favorite track, at the moment anyways.

There's even a piano version of it that's really awesome, even though the ending was cut off and makes it sound very awkward.

The whole album is just awesome. :D

It's so bad but it's so good. Everything tells me it's not good music but I love listening to it.
Sounds like it will put you in a trance, then make you sit in one spot with a blank stare for a few hours.

I bought album by small rock band from village festival.

It was 4am when I decided to head home from the said festival.
Unfortunately my new and shiny album was left behind.

White Blood Cells, a White Stripes album.

I gotta say I'm pretty happy with it. I really like "Fell in Love With a Girl", especially since I saw the music video-
LEGO and garage rock? Yes please.

Aside from the Humble Indie music bundle. The last album I bought was Stop Making Sense by Talking Heads because I heard the live version of Life During Wartime on the radio and had to own it.

I think my latest purchase was High on Fire's "De Vermiis Mysteriis" and it was totally worth it. Heavy, bludgeoning, and uncompromising from start to finish. I also got Therapy?'s "Crooked Timber" which has proven to be heavy, melodic, and nicely experimental.

Nile's "At the Gate of Sethu". Seems to have a very mixed, dividing reaction from most of the fans. I, once I got past the somewhat strange production, loved it. Definitely worth the $25.00 I paid for it, since I don't usually buy new albums. As far as favourite tracks go, 'Supreme Humanism of Megalomania' and 'The Chaining of the Iniquitous' would be them. Strangely enough, they're last two tracks on the record. Hmm. Also boasts a hell of a cool album cover:

Goddamn, you have a very similar taste in music to me. A bit of indie and some good classics. I definitely prefer the 80's - 90's period though.

The most recent album I would've bought is OK Computer by Radiohead if the shops still had them in stock >_>

The reason?

(Maybe Men at Work's Business as Usual too)

So are you playing catch up with Jack White's back catalog or have you not bought a new album in 10 years? Good choice either way.

The last one I bought was Swing Low Magellan by the Dirty Projectors. It's solid, but not as intense or endearingly eccentric as the last two albums. This is a song

The last album I bought was Mercenary's latest album entitled, "Metamorphosis."

A favorite from the new album:

They have lost their pitch vocalist over the past year or so, and their relatively new bassist took over as the vocalist. He's got talent, but they have lost their original sound. They are still pretty awesome, but I miss the sounds of Mikkel Sandager. Fortunately, he's rumored to be working on a new project (Firesoul) with some of the old Mercenary crew. I am excited to see what pans out!

Their best album (by far) is still, "11 Dreams."

The title song is simply amazing. I have not heard better lyrics or vocals - ever.

And for something a little heavier...

It's all definately worth a listen.

Sorta playing catchup. I didn't really get into punk/garage/alt rock until the last year or so, so I'm just trying out all kinds of new stuff.

You guys simply win.

Last night I bought Com Truise's album "Galactic Melt", since it seemed to be on sale on iTunes. Fantastic stuff, very relaxing. I love that kind of chillout electronic stuff almost as much as I love metal. And the whole nostalgia tone is brilliant.

The last physical CDs I got were at Warped Tour; I picked up Every Time I Die's latest (amazing) and a classic The Fall of Troy record, Doppelganger (fuckin brilliant).

The last album I picked up was either Clockwork angels by Rush or Reign supreme by Dying Fetus. Both were very good, very different albums.

If by Mindless Self Indulgence. I usually prefer to buy songs by themselves, but a full album would have to be If.
