I bought a fair few albums in the past week.
Tegan and Sara - all of it
The Mountain Goats - all of it post 2000 (which is like 10 albums. T set me back a fair bit)
Against Me! - all of it again
Metric - all of it
Murder By Death - In Bocca Al Lupo and Red of Tooth and Claw.

Amounted to about 30 ish albums, all physical.
Just to be clear, I bought all of these at the same time. So don't quote me saying 'THE TITLE SAYS LATEST NOT YOUR ENTIRE COLLECTION GABAWWWWSK'

My last purchase was the album 2012 from the band World Order. Because japanese or not, who can resist a bunch of men dressed in business suits and ties doing awesome syncronized dancing in random cities?

Last time I brought albums, it was a couple of weeks ago, I picked up "Handwritten" by The Gaslight Anthem, which I wasn't to keen on to begin with but it has grown on me a lot. The other was "Long LIve The Struggle" by The King Blues which has its moments, but isn't great its all over the place stylistically, probably as a result of the last few months before the band split up.

"Unfaithfully yours" by General Fiasco, Good album for the most part theres some pretty bad songs on it to but every one of those theres two good ones.

And its just good to support local talent.

God, I love Opeth. Blackwater Park is still one of the Best Metal Albums of recent memory.

OT: Pearl Jam's Ten. One of the Few Albums where I like every song.

Opeth and Pearl Jam? I think you're on my wavelength man. Totally agree about Ten, it's in my list of classics for that very reason.

iTunes has spoiled me, so i generally don't buy whole albums. the last one i bought was Make it Louder by Louna.

i bought about half of it piecemeal before deciding to buy the whole thing. there's only one song on it that i don't like.

I am a huge classic rock fan but the latest albums I bought have been of the great Ludwig Van. I was at a library sale and had 50 cent CD's of all this classical music and I thought "why not?" Among his symphonies and sonata's I also found some Bach and Mozart. As well as the great "This Is How We Do It" by Montell Jordan. A bit of place? Yes. But I'm giving to a friend as a gag gift.

Why thank you. Are you a Mercenary fan too? Have you picked up their latest album? It really isn't the same as their old stuff, but it definately has a good sound! :D

What's kinda sad, is that between all of their albums (minus First Breath - it's IMPOSSIBLE to find), I don't think I can get tired of their music.

Well, I bought the Humble music bundle for $10 the other day,but I havent really listened to much of it yet so I won't count it. My last real album purchase was Stones Grow Her Name by Sonata Arctica. It's a decent album, but its a tad disappointing compared to their other, much better albums. It's less progressive and even less metal in general, but it still has some great songs. My favorites have to be "Wildfire Part III: Wildfire Town, Population 0" and "Cinderblox" ( bluegrass metal anyone?)

Periphery's new album. Such a good album, so fun to listen to.
Amazing, amazing stuff. My favorite band. Saw them live yesterday and they were phenomenal.

I haven't bought it, but from what I've heard of it on the web it sounds pretty fantastic. I haven't looked much into their older stuff though, I need to get on that.

Physical album? Blue Record by Baroness, and I'm loving the hell out of it, especially the songs Swollen And Halo and Jake Leg.
Oh my god, I love you guys. Just throwing it out there that first, L'Enfant Sauvage is an incredible album, and second, that Baroness are criminally unheard of in my local Rock Soc, as far as I'm aware. Awesome band. Props to you both.

On-Topic:

Having a job is great; I can buy MORE ALBUMS.

I just picked up In Flames's Whoracle to fill out my back catalogue, and rebought the Dropkick Murphy's Going Out in Style because one of my flatmates (accidentally) snapped the fucking disk.

I would highly recommend all of their older albums as well as the newest one. I would start with, "11 Dreams," and then I would pick up, "The Hours that Remain." Those are the best two albums that feature the vocals and lyrics of Mikkel Sandager and Henrick 'Kral' Andersen. "Architect of Lies," is ok, and it is the first album with the current vocalist, Rene Pederson. It is kind of a mash-up of the old and new lineup.

I would just scour Amazon.com for some good deals. It's definately worth grabbing all of their albums if you have the coin to do so. Like I said, I have yet to get bored with them.

Some more excellent tracks from three of their best albums. Give'em a listen! :D

A track from their second album (since the first one is near impossible to find). Sorry, the quality isn't that great here.

If you like what you hear on the form that little snip-it from the Everblack album, both of those vocalists (Mikkel and Kral) are forming a new band, Firesoul. They haven't released anything yet, but I am hoping they can get a record out in the coming months.

And I love you too. Because you mentioned Baroness. They're playing in a club not far from me on the 15th...I'm so lucky, it'll be fucking kickass. Have you heard their new record? Dropkick Murphys seem good too from I've heard (a few songs off Tony Hawk games, plus that one from The Departed). I've got a couple of their albums, really should get round to listening to 'em.

I don't have a job. But I spend my student grant and buy loads of albums anyway! It's difficult to resist when you see things like Paradise Lost's Draconian Times Special Edition for only £7.50.

The last physical album I bought was The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway by Genesis. The 2008 CD Re-mastered version. That's not to say that I didn't already have it on vinyl and CD beforehand. That was about 3 years ago now.

The last album I got digitally would be a tie between whatever was in the Indie bundle with Bastion, if game soundtracks count. If not, Chiptunes = WIN.

Karkelo by Korpiklaani. I'd never heard of them before, and noticed the CD buried behind a few Manowar disks. It was priced at 5 bucks and the first song on the disk is titled "Vodka", so I figured "hey, I like vodka, these guys wrote a song about it, so they can't be all bad". Fuck me was this the nicest surprise 5 bucks ever got me!

I have NO idea what they're saying, and I don't even mind.

The latest full album? That would be Frozen Storm Apocalypse, by Wintersoul. Incredible album. Female vocals are not the best, but Nargath's drumming and the lead vocals more than make up for it. Pretty much every song is incredible, but favorites are Dawn of Ice Hearts, Shadows of Death, Thorns of Winter, and Blood on Ice.
